    Coolant Cap

Thanks for this, so my fans are working as they should. Hose can be squeezed when hot, so perhaps it is just a cap issue? Will look to getting another replacement. Anyway have now got the driver's window making the graunch of death as it lowers so need to get that fixed. Oh what joys...

    Coolant Cap

Believe so. No bubbles in bottle, no mayo on dipstick or filler cap. Checked the top hose this morning when it was hot and I was able to squeeze it, saw the coolant level change in the bottle. Just evidence of coolant around the filler cap. Could someone post the engine temps for me...

    Coolant Cap

New bottle, the original one did have cracks in it. Can someone confirm the temperatures for me which the fans should come on. When I see 109-110 on the Torque App I hear the fan come on and it sounds as if it's about to take off?

Where did you get it from? Rimmers is where I got the one I have?

    Coolant Cap

No bubbles, pipes are hard IIRC. Had a new pump and IMG, which both had showed signs of leaking, back in the summer. Ta again.

    Coolant Cap

It does yes, but why do I have traces of coolant around the top of the cap? On my Torque Pro the temp regularly gets up to around 110 but the fans quickly bring this down to 105. Is it getting too hot and therefore too much pressure perhaps? Thanks.

    Coolant Cap

Despite replacing the coolant bottle as well as having 2 new caps for it I'm unable to tighten the cap down on the bottle. It spins similar to one of those child proof medicine bottles and has coolant constantly leaking from it. Surely not normal? Is it a case of yet another cap and or...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Changed the key fob battery. It now doesn't beep when I get in. Thanks to this forum for letting me know what it was.

    Possible Noisey Diff

As an update had a set of Grabbers put on last week, transformed the car. So quiet the differences is almost unbelievable, even on the concrete sections of the A14. Thank goodnessI didn't have the diff or anything else changed. Ta.

    Stretch bolts

Thanks chaps, now another question. Because of the different characteristics of the aluminium block and the bolts, one will expand at a different rate from the other. So will the bolts stretch then contract with the block so that the block expands in line with the bolts, vertically would...

    Stretch bolts

Why are they not stretch bolts? The industry seem to think they are?

    Stretch bolts

There's a very interesting debate going on elsewhere with regards the bolts which clamp the block, oil rail and head together on the 1.8k Series. It centres around whether the bolts are actually "stretch" bolts or not? If they are what makes them so, as all bolts are apparently stretch bolts...

New tyres fitted too; x5 Set of grabbers. Can now hear myself think as well as some sort of growling noise from under the bonnet area. Should I be concerned? It gets louder when I press the right pedal????

    Buggered me radio

Somehow managed to get half the contents of a bottle of coke in the radio of my Freelander:mad::mad: V6 SE. It was a cheap and cheery Rover unit but worked the CD changer ok. Have cleaned it out but it's stuffed. I don't want one of those aftermarket jobbies that flash the channel information at...
