Nope, I don't buy or read that magazine. Can you scan it in for us?

    fishsponge's ongoing thread of problems!

There must be evidence of them undoing and retightening the fill/level plugs in the swivels, if they've looked at them?

Lower reading on Volt gauge after fitting new alternator??

Also possible that the new alternator has a faulty regulator or an internal fault. You'd need to get it tested to find out properly, though.

Lower reading on Volt gauge after fitting new alternator??

Most likely you've not connected the exciter wire up properly, or broken it in the process.

    TOP 5 Air tools

What's the question? I can think of at least 3 other air tools which you'll use FAR more frequently than the ones you've listed. What do you already have? What size compressor? And what sort of money etc?

    Shortening a 110 Chassis.

You're going to have to help yourself, before others are able to help you. "Just a toy" is pretty meaningless. If its "just a toy" why not just sell keep it 110"? Or sell it and buy a Defender 90? etc etc.

Radiator Bleed screws on Disco 300 TDI??

Both. Fill the coolant expansion tank to the mark, then fill the radiator to the top via the bleed screw and refit, then fill the thermostat to the top through the bleed screw and refit.

    Shortening a 110 Chassis.

What is it going to be used for? Trials cars tend to be 80" wheelbase and winch challenge trucks tend to be 100", as a general guideline.

    new here looking for advice

Yeah x2 just try a gearbox oil change first of all. Not everyone realises the service frequency you're supposed to change it (every 12,000 miles or yearly).

    Recommend a battery..

You have fitted the battery the wrong way round. If you did manage to stretch the terminals, you'd have connected the + to - and - to +!!! Lift the battery out, turn it through 180°, drop it back in.

    Recommend a battery..

Did you order a 334? Did they send a 334? Are the terminals the same position on the battery, as your old one? (ie not swapped round)? The terminals will be wider apart, because the battery is bigger. Its only a couple of inches though. I was able to make the terminals fit (with no...

    Recommend a battery..

I measured it up too, and thought it would be a really tight fit. In fact, there was plenty of space to spare, so fitting was easy. I don't know if the oil cooler pipes are in a different place on an auto than a manual (which I have), though. I doubt if they are.

    Why the Disco 1?

There's probably about the same number of Disco 1s and 2s on the roads. There seems to be as many, maybe more, posts on Disco2 problems. Maybe its because over time, the Disco1 issues have all been encountered and are now "known" issues which people search for, or just know about, or have...

very very early 110 or a good old fashioned ringer ?

Do you want to rethink this one, given the fact that there's 20 years difference between V SUFFIX and V PREFIX registrations?

    toms farm

The problem is, the place will always be 'haunted' by the previous events and ellicit off roading. The guy's a farmer, who tried to diversify, but apparently he wasn't that great a farmer either (RSPCA or something got involved, because of animal welfare issues). So maybe he'll just sell up, or...

    Remote central locking?????

Yeah it should be. Why are all these cars getting bought/sold without the remotes? Where do they go? Mine's on the key ring that the key is on and I can't see why you'd ever take it off. Anyway.....best of luck with it.

'95 disco 300tdi issues - help and advice needed!

Sounds like a wheel bearing. The giveaway is the brake issue too. What is happening is the wheel/hub/disc is wobbling around and as it does so, pushes the pads away from the disc. So when you brake, that slack is taken up (long pedal) before the pads/disc square up and it actually applies...

    Recommend a battery..

MCA is cranking amps measured at 0°C CCA is cranking amps measured at -20°C cranking amps is the amount of amps the battery can deliver from fully charged to depleting itself to about 9.6V over 30 seconds. Or something like that.
