    Cleaning out Jerry cans

that's exactly what I was getting at, you can get new ones for close to 15 quid each, pretty sure thats what I paid for mine. To be honest I'm not that keen on my metal ones now anyway, I'd much rather some good quality plastic ones but I haven't started looking into it yet

    Cleaning out Jerry cans

I use biodiesel and the only problem I've had with it is that its a better solvent than regular diesel and basically cleans all the crap out the bottom of my old diesel tank and clogs the filter the first time you switch over to it. Might do the trick on your cans, depends how bad they are...

    insurance tits!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Land_Rover_engines 200tdi seems to have a whole lot more power than the td but its a land rover, not a little Saxo that you're going to rag around like an idiot. Good luck finding someone with some sense to talk to, I'd expect my premium to go up for sure but not...

    Swivel bearing fell apart :(

Cheers guys, Sorry for late reply, I've decided to order a full swivel kit and just do the whole job rather than mess about to change one bearing. If that bearing is gone I assume the rest of the parts won't be far behind. Plus I've not done a swivel kit before so its another thing I can learn...

    Swivel bearing fell apart :(

good, well I'll order one now and hopefully get it Wednesday, is it going to be a massive pain in the ass to fit, ie do I need to remove the hub...etc. to do it....and more importantly how do I get the remains of the previous bearing out of the bottom? Cheers again James!!

    Swivel bearing fell apart :(

Morning guys, gonna have a shot at putting the old bearing back together, I'm hoping all the pins are in the swivel housing. I've never worked on the swivels before so how easy will it be to get the pins out the bottom of the housing? And what is involved, obviously don't want to strip too much...

    Swivel bearing fell apart :(

Here to fix my problem again James, bloody star! Anywho, mine is on the changeover year between 200 and 300. Well either way, it had a center collar type thing that came out and left a bunch of what must be the rollers of the rolled bearing. So I guess its a 300tdi axle. So if that's the case...

    Swivel bearing fell apart :(

Afternoon guys, Been trying to sort out a recent death wobble, found my nearside swivel pin to have play in it. Anywho, removed the top pin and the inner part of the bearing came with the pin, and a whole bunch of the rollers fell into the swivel housing. Just wanted to ask what my options are...

Lanes near Wittlesey Peterborough - Met a git

Yep my parents live near Newborough, been laning around there alot and there are quite a few people that don't like 'laners'. Funny one was about 5 of us did night laning in the winter, in series 3's and a couple of 90's. Wasn't late though, just dark, got to the end of a track where the lane...

Should hopefully get new box this morning, tnt dropped the first one off a pallet and cracked the casing, so sourced another one at tnt's expense. Good news is I'll have a spare viscous if mine packs in! Should hopefully put it in this afternoon after work, haven't got a transmission jack this...

    Split prop shaft problems!

Afternoon all! just brought a new genuine LR wide yoke propshaft and when moving it and generally seeing how smoothly a new shaft should slide, the whole splined piece came off......and I can't get it back in more than about 10mm, and then really really struggle to get it out again. Is there...

    bushes removal

A couple of mine were really really stuck, even after removing the inner metal sleeve and the rubber piece. Probably get shot down in flames for this, but I put a hacksaw in and carefully cut the outer metal piece of the bush to weaken it, then bashed an old flat screwdriver down the outside of...

    Whiiiiiine!

Cheers again James, could there be any other cause for play in the output shaft or is it likely to be the bearing? Just want to make sure I'm not throwing money at a knackered box.
