Steering suddenly became heavy at centre position

I had the same result! Quite rewarding when you get a good outcome. What's the next job? Always another challenge waiting, such are Landys! :):)

Steering suddenly became heavy at centre position

I had a similar problem just this last week. I know you said in your initial post that you had oiled the uj's in the steering column, but that was where my problem was. Does the effort required to turn the wheel vary as you go lock to lock or is it constant? If it varies I would recheck the uj's.

TD5 Fuel guage reading 1/4 full with full Tank!

Not really a new post, more of an update and plea for help! Did post previously re Fuel guage reading about 1/4 full despite a full tank. Have now had time to explore further and cut a hole above the Fuel pump to get access to the pump and sender. Have now proved by using another 110 sender...

TD5 Fuel guage reading 1/4 full with full Tank!

Looks like I will have to cut out a hatch in this one as I had to do in my own one to get access to the pump without dropping the tank. Something else for the ever lengthening todo list! :(

TD5 Fuel guage reading 1/4 full with full Tank!

Having just bought my son a 110 to match mine, (better nic than mine!) there are a few gremlins to sort out. One of these is the fuel guage reading just over quarter full although has had £85 worth of Diesel put in. Have done a search but not found the answer I need. I do seem to recall this may...

Stuck Torx gearbox filler plug TD5

Fortunately I read a previous post and did not empty first !! :) Will try again when I am back home this weekend. Yes I am concerned re rounding off the torx bolt. May have to resort to fanatics medieval methods.

Stuck Torx gearbox filler plug TD5

Will try cleaning out the torx bolt next weekend. There is not much depth in the bolt so it may be gunked. Will happily change th bolt if only I could get the bl**dy yhing out@:p

Stuck Torx gearbox filler plug TD5

Having got round to doing a complete Oil change, all went well until it came to Gearbox Filler plug. Searches told me this was a t55 torx and while it does fit, there is not enough depth to get a good hold. Just will not budge. Anyone else with the same problem? and preferrably a solution...

    MOT Fail

That is the plan for the future. Bought it as a project, bodywork pretty tatty, but just keeps going as every day drive. Will keep it going until summer then perhaps a rebuild? :)

    MOT Fail

Yes! That's the bit! My garage had phoned the local stealer and they said no such bit available. I will be on to it in the morning. Thanks:)

    MOT Fail

Having congratulated myself on fixing a 2 amigo's problem that has bugged me for months and checked all the usual culprits, my 110 went in for MOT and as the title suggests, it failed! The MOT refusal cert identified track rod ends - fair enough they were sloppy. Also highlighted broken spring...

    Fuel leak

That unit is the fuel filter. Best option is to replace the filter element and the oil seal ring at the top.(make sure you get the old one out first). The bit with the wires at the bottom is the water sensor. Check the fibre washer on that too. :)
