    Rear brakes TD4

The handbrake lever, bottom of pic 4, needs to be free to enable the handbrake to release. It's a little lever.

    Battery Drain

    Probably the radio itself.

    E4 air conditioner

Maybe some help, an e4 error on a rover is inside temp sensor issue. Where it is I don't know. But I looked for e4 air con fault rover. If you can find some images it may be the same system.

    Freelander 1 Tailgate Rubber Seal

If using a heat gun, and the car is scrap, warm the surrounding metal rather than the rubber.

    License plate light

Single spot light on the rear will stop that

    Freelander 1 Notchy Gears

The bleed screw is on a loose bit of pipe down the UK passenger side. The master cylinder is tiny and be careful not to drop any of the black insulation in it. I use a syringe to slowly fill it, or you could suck some of the old fluid out first to change it.

    Freelander 2 2008 starting issue

Shop around for price but I have recently found Halfords cheaper if you either use trade card or join their motoring club.

    Freelander 1 Notchy Gears

Try bleeding the clutch. Mine goes like that every 6 months or so and air in the system is common, especially if the clutch or master cylinder has been changed in its life.

    Freelander 2 2008 starting issue

The lights dimming indicates a drain on the battery, so starter is trying to turn and something stopping it. That could just be a failed battery. Standard car batteries don't like being fully discharged.

    Unknown connector under the alternator

On the alternator there should be 2 connections. A big wire to a bolt terminal, power to the battery so don't earth it. And a connection with 2 or 3 wires. Confirm both are connected.

    Freelander 1 TD4 Manual 1st Gear Switch

It may have been disconnected if the gearbox has been removed, and forgotten to reconnect. I assume it's only needed for hill descent control

Freelander 1 Rear wheel cylinder bolts

No need to lower anything, apart from maybe the exhaust. Plan how you are going to run it as both ends are a pain. Get some more clips, maybe even at the rear leave old pipe in to clip to. The bends to the abs pump are tight. You'll probably need diagnostic software to run the abs pump while...

    Axle Stands

I put the rear axle stands on the subframe as the jacking point is near to the corner that tends to turn into dust. I did drive it onto ramps, then jack the rear up to put on axle stands. Never doing it again as when jacking it moved back slightly onto the ramp, then as I lifted the back off...

Yes to swapping the control unit.

    Freelander 1 fault code P0130.

A decent o2 sensor socket is a must. It has a cut out for the cable. Maybe a short breaker bar.

    FL1 TD4 Injector Cap Size

Depending on your reason to remove glow plugs, the M47 engine will start with just 3 glow plugs. May get a bit f white smoke until fully firing.

Freelander 1 Houston we have a problem!!!!

I bought a spanner extender to move the tensioner, and keep it loose. Was awkward to hold it, get the belt on and not get one skin behind the belt. To stop the spanner slipping off a wedge of wood may help.

    Hello Again! (SOLVED, Engine replacement)

Good call above, did you try the plate on the splines before fitting, hopefully you have the correct plate. Sometimes when you come back to it you can get it to align. Only needs the engine to be half inch too high or low to stop it going in. Fingers crossed for you

    Noisy Drop Link (Again)

I think they are a service item now so I'd go for the cheaper ones.
