    Wooden brakes

Great to hear you got it fitted. I know I posted it first class, but with it being posted on Friday I thought it would be Monday at the earliest that you got it. Good old Post Office! Pleased to hear you've got your brakes back. :) The red squirrel group are over the moon with the money...

    Why won’t it sell

I doubt they'll honour the full online evaluation when you turn up for the inspection. They're bound to decide there's some fault. About 10 years ago I got an online quote to have my alloy wheels refurbished. It wasn't too bad a quote, but I didn't get around to doing anything about it. A week...

    Why won’t it sell

This is interesting! Since I put the number plates of the 110's I found for sale on Ebay in to WBAC they have continued to send me emails to try and get me to take the cars along to their local assessment centre. Their emails always contain a link to their new valuation estimate. The valuations...

    No side step mounting points?

We all have slow moments, if we're honest! Great to hear you're getting it sorted

    Are they still at it?

It looks like they're stripping stolen vehicles for parts and using the picture for their engine reconditioning scam. There's efficiency for you.

    No side step mounting points?

Pretty sure they just hang from the inner sill with a couple of support bars going across to the chassis rail. The inner sill has bolt slots in it and the brackets on the steps should line up with those slots. Will depend on your particular F&I steps. A picture of your steps, with the brackets...

    Brake bias valve

I've got a schematic in my Defender manual for a 90, no idea if it's the same for the 110?

    Brake bias valve

That looks identical to mine, but very shiny! Did you by any change take note of which brake pipes went to where from it? ie which port fed the back and which the front. EDIT Mine's a 90, but it looks very like that one!

    Steering vibrations above 50mph

The bolts have to be extremely tight. They can look solid, but I'd get a big bar on to make sure.

    Steering vibrations above 50mph

If you had vibrations before, it might have been the start of something that has nothing to do with your swivel ball. Panhard rod bushes going cause significant vibrations. If they've not been changed since 1994, it might be them.

    Turbo?

On a TD5 it could also be a dirty sensor or other sensor fault. Might have nothing to do with the actual turbo. Were the engine oil and filter changed as per the service schedule all of it's life?

Brand New TRW Brake Servo (Defender 300Tdi)

THIS ITEM HAS BEEN SOLD I bought a brake servo from LR Direct. I thought it was faulty and so they sent another one. Turned out it wasn't because the second one was the same. Full story on this thread Servo Rattle They told me to keep them both  It's a TRW part number LR013488G it...

    New Servo Rattling

An interesting day! New servo arrived this morning. Rattled and clanged like the first one  Emailed LR Direct straight away to say it seemed very strange that I've got two that rattle. Were the suppliers really sure there was an issue with it when they listened to the video I sent? I...

    Burnt out - rebuild

Got ya :) Taking the wheels off and lowering it on to low axle stands seems like a good shout. You'd have to make sure you got all of the awkward bell housing bolts out before you dropped it.

Hope you can help - diagnostic codes & creaking pedals/steering column

Mine sometimes creaks from the steering column if I accidentally bump the plastic column surround. This causes the foam inside and, maybe, the plastic to rub and make a loud noise. If you're lucky, it might just be that.

    New Servo Rattling

    Tremendous :D:D:D

    Burnt out - rebuild

Hmmm, pretty tight I reckon. Is the Landy rolling? And do you have space to push it back? You could put the crane on timber, like a few decking boards. Lift the engine while pushing Landy back. Might be easier to take the bumper off  How did you get the engine out?

    Burnt out - rebuild

Going back a while now Dag, three or four inches if I remember correctly. This is the best angled shot I've got. Sorry, I can't remember exactly. What's your winch bumper look like? Got a picture? I think it could be tight.
