What Does it Mean When Your Tyre is the Bump Stop?

It means time to fit coils. Davie:D

    bloody insulting!!!

tbh I would just keep it and run it into the ground, not worth selling it for that price especialy when you have spent all that money and its running right, even keeping it for a winter vehicale or workhorse makes sense as it keeps the newer motor good. Wrong time of year for selling I'm afraid...

    Wheeler Dealer P38 Discovery Channel

Would be intresting to here from the new owner, I take it that the fluids were checked as taken but Edd does show on other motors checking all that out. I would hope that the engine oil and filters were changed but not costed as it seemed that tints were more important, watched the Esprit the...

    p38 suspension

Come on wammers, half the price, once these things get to a certain age its non stop, change one part then the next goes, 4 air bags and compressor is a damn site more (& less reliable) than a coil conversion. Davie:deadhorse:

    p38 suspension

Take a hint from where you are - Oxspring, fit coil springs, did mine a year ago and never let me down, had all that emergency valves but coils are a lot less stressfull and you can go anywhere without worrying about it f*cking up. Air bags, ecu, compressor, valve block, pipes, kicker, laptop-no...

    one for irishrover

I was not getting any power or signal from the obd, sorry then different problem, suspected that I got lucky with the srs data, just hope it stays that way. Davie

    one for irishrover

I had the same problem, ended up tracing all the wires through and testing them, found the brown wire broken where it goes into a white multi-plug in the drivers footwell behind the plastic panel where the bonnet pull is. This solved the problem and gave me communication and funnily enough also...

air - coil springs; what's the MOT case?

No problem in the UK, also got in touch with VOSA to see if the coils would affect the MOT when it gets changed due to European rules and they assured me that there will be no problem. I had EAS and changed it to coils and would not change back even if someone else offered to pay. Cheers Davie

Magnets - the new snake oil?

Hahahahahahahahaha, remember years ago when they tried to con everyone in the fishing fleet up here with this magnetic bollocks, how on earth can they make these claims also seen mythbusters try all these fuel saving schemes inc magnets, guess what-none worked. Davie

Nothing working on drivers door p38

Got to agree, still sounds like a broken wire, have you had the kick plate up and checked the wireing all the way back to the BeCM. Davie

    Yippee

My ongoing saga of the test plug not communicating I found a broken wire (Brown) after tracing the wires through at a white plug in the drivers footwell right hand side. Sorted it and it is now communicating and for some reason has also canceled the SRS light. Now found out that I need a new ABS...

    P38 - air to coils?

There is not a chance on this planet would I trust EAS on a trek like that, its almost guaranteed that it will let you down, in more ways than one ha ha. Davie

    Voltage

Cheers Data, suspect the alternator, will take it off and get it checked. Davie

    Voltage

Hi Data, was a brand new exide about 11 months ago, 96 a/h, I put it on the charger and got an instant 7 amp charge even though she starts no problem. !!! Davie

    Voltage

Still have issues with my ABS & SRS lights, as posted before the motor has been into 3 garages and cannot get the diagnostic plug to work, local garages do not seem intrested so have decided this time home to check all the wireing. I read also that a low voltage can cause all sorts of problems...

    P38 - air to coils?

Accordian effect, must be a pretty shoddy conversion or the coils are shagged, if we follow that argument then what about Pajero's/shoguns, landcruisers and all the rest that used or uses coils, i live in the North East of Scotland where currently there are probably more potholes than road and...

    P38 - air to coils?

You will always get those that take the argument too far, it's as simple as this. In MY opinion the range rover is a better motor on coils period, still recommend you go and try one even if you pretend to be a buyer. Davie

    P38 - air to coils?

Be serious wammers, debate is coils or air and some of us think that coils are better and more reliable, I certainly would not change back. As I said before go and try one on coils before changeing and see what you think. Have not seen any RS on air yet can't think of a ford with EAS can you...

    passenger door lock stuck

Same happened to mine and ended up breaking out the lock. Run window fully down, shine in with a bright torch and locate the lock, get an old bit of towel and put that over the door with a couple of inches pushed down into the gap to protect the window then with a long sharp punch (I used an 18"...

    Now she won't start?!?!

Yeah agree with above, you really need to see if the engine will turn over even if you need to bar it over, if it does turn over and there is no water then you can start to eliminate things, tbh if it gave a thunk it does not sound like electrical/electronic problem to me but back to basics...
