Kwik Fit say no-no to MoTs on classic?

Oh. Why has it been posted in the RR section then?

Kwik Fit say no-no to MoTs on classic?

Perhaps it may be because modern Range Rovers are too heavy for class 4 carlifts and need to be tested at a class 7 equipped MOT centre. I expect classic RR's are lumped into the same band.

That could be blocked fuel filter or faulty low pressure fuel pump. Possibly faulty high pressure fuel pump.

It should read over 14v when running, not just on foot down. Have you checked voltage when driving? Mate's van would be over 14v, but when I drove it with obd diagnostic connected it would suddenly drop to 12v for a while then back up to over 14v. If it didn't go back up for a long while it...

Help please! Electrical issue with 1995 Defender 110 County, 300 tdi

Are you getting 13.7v all the time? A mates van has intermittent charging fault and throws up P0087 when it's not charging and voltage drops below 12v. I keep telling him to buy a new alternator, but he hasn't yet. Basically not enough volts to run the high pressure fuel pump.

I noticed no galvanic corrosion. What about the anodic corrosion?? Especially under the earth strap?

And how conductive is the anodic corrosion between the ally and steel?

Help please! Electrical issue with 1995 Defender 110 County, 300 tdi

From memory- I put an earth from the battery to one of the starter motor mounting bolts and another one from there to the inner wing mounting bolt. I'm not keen on only earthing through the gearbox, as aluminiumium is not as conductive as steel.

Help please! Electrical issue with 1995 Defender 110 County, 300 tdi

I would buy an earth lead (just a generic one from halfords/local motor factor) and put it from the battery to chassis, as a lot of the electrics earth through the bulkhead/chassis.

Anything less than 12.3v is a flat battery. This flat battery has been pointed out, but sadly completely ignored by @Joshk5000. The battery maybe new to you, but I would suggest it's fooked.

Who remembers Rashe/Rache or what ever he was called and his class action against Landrover because his Freelander wasn't 4wd? Oh the fun we had there! I'm getting similar vibes here.

If the DPF is too blocked from the OP doing 5 mile school runs in his pyjamas for a fortnight, then runs at 50mph won't regen it. It will need a forced regeneration. And a change of vehicle more suited to his use. Like a petrol Nissan Micra.
