    shortly after i got mine it started using water, no mayo in oil cap, didnt overheat till summer came, was cracked block! has been rebuilt since with new block with top hat liners... dont wish to worry you but no mayo dont mean sh!t......

    I don't like that idea! you wont know your fluid is too low until its low enough to give you trouble! in an ideal world theres no reason for it to go down but leaks happen! i mean it is a Land Rover after all and i did hear if you have a Land Rover that dont drip its empty!

    Poss silly sugestion, have you tried cleaning air flow meter? ten mins with can of carb cleaner! I did mine recently and theres a huge difference in performance/driveabilty! may be worth a try?

    i havent got the cat flap type afm, so thankfully dont have to worry about it being buggered by backfires! but i found when mine was running sh!te before engine rebuild it backfired while running on gas, not during the switch over!
