    The White ****e has arrived

I agree with Datatek, was up at the cairngorm on sunday and while everyone played I shivered and moaned, and it ruins a round of golf. Davie :D

    Diesel Glow Plugs

Mine was getting a little lumpy on cold mornings a couple of months back so I changed all of them and back to instant starting and smoothness. I took out NGK and put in Delphi, the ones I took out all worked but obviously had degraded a bit over time. As said don't use cheapies, this is a case...

failed suspension ( is it drivable)

If its more than 10 miles see if you can get a trailer, its not a nice experience on the bump stops, thats one of the reasons I fitted coils and never regretted it. Davie

    Gearbox flaring

Took the bull by the horns and dropped the valve body's today, did find one kind of sticky, cleaned them up, re-fitted and filled with dextron 11, as its the 3 oil change in as many months i thought i would fill it with the cheaper stuff first and if all good change it later. Car seems a lot...

    Gearbox flaring

Hi guys, ok been home for a few days and after the last oil change in the box with lucas added my box now only flares when really cold or when using kickdown from 4-3 and then flares for about a second changing back up. If I drive with 3 selected I can gun it from a standing start and get crisp...

How long should glow plugs be on for?

I checked mine and the light is on for 5 secs, did you test the glowplugs before you fitted them, just because they are new does not mean one can't be duff. Davie

    Mitsubishi powered p38

Kind of wondered why anyone would bother, at least the 4m40 is better than the 4d56 zen and as you say would certainly like a drink. Davie

    Diesel tuning, taken further...

There was a guy on the Pajero forum that spent a load of time and money trying to get more power out of the 2.5 4d56 engine, it was a very interesting thread, bigger turbo, intercooler the works, don't know if it ever was right but I just thought why did he not go and get a v6, same here why not...

Right Gents - Who's going to offer advice to a young laydee!?

Don't think my 2.5 would pull a 40 footer, isn't that classed as HGV if towed. If you had the expeience I had with sudden deflation at the back you may change your mind. When I tow my boat on its small twin axle trailer I make sure its balanced correctly. Anyway I think mine is a better motor on...

Right Gents - Who's going to offer advice to a young laydee!?

Rubbish about the mot we have been through that and as for handling like a marshmallow , more rubbish, I actually prefer the handling on mine now. I have no problems towing a 23 foot boat, never been flashed about dazzling anyone. Up to you but I would not feel comftorable towing with EAS, cause...

Right Gents - Who's going to offer advice to a young laydee!?

Do what I did, change it to coils its about £300 for the kit and not difficult to change out, should be easy for your Husband, a couple of hours and its done. last thing I would want when towing would be the EAS failing. You will find some on here are for coils others are very very against, but...

    P38: LPG vs Diesel

Think the 200tdi is about 110bhp, the rangie is 138bhp. Mine has done 160K and apart from a problem with the auto box that happened after i changed the fluid and a couple of electrical problems its been great. Auto box seems a lot better after another fluid change but I think you would find that...

    2WD Ewok put-down review

Only hope it does not affect the sales of its big brothers as it does kind of dumb down the brand. A completly pointless car thats ugly to boot, if I was in the market for a soft roader the likes of the Kuga and Sportage can be had for a lot less money and probably a better car, certainly they...

What mileage is your Range Rover P38 on? (1994 to 2002)

Yes thats my baby cracked the 160K barrier and into the next group, long live P38s. Cheers Davie :D:D:D

Range rover P38 2.5 D top rad hoses very hard?

Datatek may be right and the head needs to heat up for the metal to expand and the crack to become apparent, might be worth getting an ndt dye penetrant test done on the head but that would only show anything on visible surfaces. Davie

    Datateks snake oil

Well she seems to be getting better by the day, just the occasional flare going from 3-4 which feels like a 1 second delay, pulling 80 uphill so no slip and the other gear changes are great so a couple more flushes and if all well am going to change the cooler and steering pipes as they look...

    Datateks snake oil

Changed gearbox fluid and filter, gave everything a good clean out as the fluid was absolutly filthy (worse than the original) even though it was changed about 1500 miles ago and added a bottle of Lucas transmission fix. Went for a 100 mile run to get it circulating and the box is a bit better...
