Well, ended up slotting the bonnet hinge holes. Not only is it now opening and closing fine, its no longer on the ****! The slam panel hadn't moved, the cable hadn't slipped and neither was anything seized. So in summary, **** knows what happened there!

The confusing thing for me is it used to pop up and close freely, aligned perfectly. Come back from a laning trip and it now sits too far forward despite taking no impacts of anything more scary than foliage :s

Yes bonnet is seated correctly.

The bulkhead is solid, as are the hinge brackets. They both sit flush on the bulkhead, now bowing or or rot. The bonnet hinges are solid, also no movement or rot. This is why I am struggling to see whats going wrong here. Obviously I appreciate everyones advice, but taking the bonnet off and...

It could be because I'm on drugs and iz intErnetZ N00b, but its more likely that I only had a spare minute at work in which to type. Yes the black spacers are there.

Its taken no impact so I can't see how this has occured, thats my main concern. The bonnet is also 'wonky'. By this I mean that there is a 20mm gap between bonnet and bulkhead drivers side, and about half that passenger side. But I couldn't say if it was like that before or not...

Bit of a weird one here... Got back from a days playing in Salisbury, got home and tried to pop the bonnet to clean up and found it has gone from very easy to open to needing a good wiggle to open. Now its gone from that to stuck shut... When it was open, I could see the plate the sprung pin...

Just for the record, my 200tdi used to make 34mpg on all terrains driven sensibly, now makes 37mpg on much taller muds but still driven sensibly ;) Most we ever got out the TD5 was 32mpg ;)

I'd recommend new exmoor trim seat foam and covers, so very comfy, cost about £130 and an hour of your time :D Other than that, just foam everything up like everyone else has said, makes a huge difference. Pay special attention to the seat box, loads of noise comes through there.
