Ok then, now we've all tweaked our pumps... turbo's.
Tonight or saturday, i'm going to shorten my actuator arm by two turns and feedback what the results are. I've seen lots threads on the internet about how much to shorten by for other engines but nothing relating to the 200tdi. Unless of...
I think i may give the 'daddy screw' a 30 degree turn at the weekend. It pulls like a train now, so not going to over do it.
But that nagging in the back of my mind still wants to take 6mm of the turbo actuator arm :o Boys and they're toys...
I'm struggling to sell mine! Currently up at £4k for a '91. A bit more than usual, but the condition speaks for itself! Yet everyone is out for a cheap deal :/
This weekend i tweaked mine a bit more. Smoke screw at 1 1/2 turns, star wheel and 1 1/2 turns and diaphragm to 120 degrees. So she now pulls noticeably stronger than previous but still not seen even a small puff of smoke! Fuel economy from the weekends trip (300 miles, 80 miles of it...
Yeah it does help cheers, the wolf rims are heavy duty and as you say have more holes in them! Also 6 inches wide as opposed to 5.5 i believe. Just wanted to make sure it didn't look total **** before buying some!
I did this on sunday. Full turn of the star wheel, 100 degrees of the diaphragm and 1.5 turns of the smoke screw. Its made the engine pick up quicker from low revs and and given it more torque, but its still no rocket! :D Although when doing the mod i never got any smoke out the exhaust at any...
I cut up my rear silencer and made it into a straight pipe, tucked it hard up to the rear body, gained an extra 4 inches clearence on that :D Sounds good, quiet at low revs, but when they start picking up you get a nice burble!
