    Another rattle!

As said it could be either of the above - mine had the same symptoms and turned out to be one of the hardy spicers on the front prop shaft. Easy to detect and easy to repair.

    Steering play/ 4 bolt PAS

As jamesmartin says but the seal usually goes because the shaft is pitted and corroded !!

    Steering play/ 4 bolt PAS

There should be no movement like that at the drop arm/steering box shaft. Bend the washer away from the nut and tighten. Don't forget to bend the washer back to the nut when tightened otherwise it WILL loosen again. Best to get someone in the cab to move the steering very slightly from side...

    90 rear drum to disc??

Is there a damper on the disco to stop the rear disc locking up, I was going to do this conversion as well, I have a Disco 300tdi rear axle and was going to fit it to my 200tdi 90. I notice that there is a doughnut on the disco axle output shaft, can the output shaft from the 90 axle be fitted...

    Disco1 chassis

Anyone fitted a Disco1 chassis to a 90, My 90 chassis is nackered, I have a Disco 1 with a good chassis. I know the wheelbase is longer on the Disco and outriggers will have to be sorted, but is it possible.

    90 Chassis Rails

I was looking for the easier fix - but just as a matter of interest what gauge would you use as it looks like thats what I will have to do. Jim

    90 Chassis Rails

Good idea - I just thought that as long as the two ends of the chassis could be held in place without moving the centre section could be removed and replaced by one piece. Jim

    90 Chassis Rails

I haven't heard of them but are prefabricated chassis rail centre sections available off the shelf - I can't afford/justify a complete chassis and if these were available they would be a lot handier to fit than doing a complete rebuild. Thanks Jim

loss of power , at high revs

Yes check out what has been said but remember it may be a combination of at least a couple of problems - I had a similar problem and after discovering and replacing a split turbo hose I still had a loss of power at high revs. Tracked it down to faulty lift pump - happy hunting!!

    Transmission Noise

Thanks Andy Land, you were spot on. Its the rear U/J on front prop. Would it be better to replace both U/J's, only one is defective. Any advice on the replacement part - make and supplier.

    Transmission Noise

Cheers guys - I'll check them today.

    Transmission Noise

Can't be a fan belt, it only happens when driving in gear, depress the clutch or ease of the throttle and the noise completely disappears. Running the engine when stationary at any revs - no noise, so, must be in the transmission - but how can I narrow it down??

    Transmission Noise

No the noise has only came in today.

Checked the oil and level about 1000 miles ago - all appeared OK then.
