Nice bit of kit - like the colour.

The rear axle on my 90 has an ID beginning with 46S, this is obviously not the original but can anyone tell me what it is from or point me to a list of axle ID numbers. I need to replace the final drive pinion oil seal and am not sure which axle I have. Thanks

I never successfully resolved the problem - ended up selling her because of it, but you're diagnosis would seem to be the cure.

Yea I should think so, no point in digging a hole - as you say, life is too short.

Thanks - maybe just take the engine out an do the timing belt an front seal at the same time, oh I'm not too sure how many miles on clutch so could be time to bite the bullet an spend a few more pounds. Have you any recommendations on part brands for all the stuff an suppliers - I def don't...

I would be grateful for advice on replacing the rear crank seal on an early 200tdi 90. Can it be done with the engine in situ and drop the gearbox or is it better to remove the engine. Any tips or advice appreciated.

Thanks - as a matter of interest have you a rough idea of how much paint you used and does the hardener contain isocyanates, you know the stuff that requires airfed masks etc.
