    Rear axle id please

The rear axle on my 90 has an ID beginning with 46S, this is obviously not the original but can anyone tell me what it is from or point me to a list of axle ID numbers. I need to replace the final drive pinion oil seal and am not sure which axle I have. Thanks

    Sticky Gearbox - Help please

I never successfully resolved the problem - ended up selling her because of it, but you're diagnosis would seem to be the cure.

    Another rattle!

I don't know what the outcome was to the rattle - he or maybe even she, never posted the cause - I was wondering what the cure was as well. Very sorry to hear the terrible news regarding your father, you are right, it puts everything in perspective and makes us all realise just how short this...

Ok then, have a read here and see what happened to Mr Nigel Gresham. You can then decide whether its worth it or not to 'take life too seriously' especially when it comes to the maintenance of your vehicle.

    200tdi Rear Crank Oil Seal

No probs - I've had a few let downs with Britpart before but I don't fancy doing this job too often just because of an inadequate part. Thanks in the meantime.

    200tdi Rear Crank Oil Seal

Thanks - maybe just take the engine out an do the timing belt an front seal at the same time, oh I'm not too sure how many miles on clutch so could be time to bite the bullet an spend a few more pounds. Have you any recommendations on part brands for all the stuff an suppliers - I def don't...

    200tdi Rear Crank Oil Seal

I would be grateful for advice on replacing the rear crank seal on an early 200tdi 90. Can it be done with the engine in situ and drop the gearbox or is it better to remove the engine. Any tips or advice appreciated.

The 90 passed it's test today

    Another rattle!

That view of "leave it to it breaks" is not correct all of the time especially when you get a warning of impending mechanical failure like what we have here. A prop shaft coupling failing on an off road course is not going to cause too much hassle for you or anyone else, however failing when...
