Re-check your timing as that's all it can be if it ran ok before you changed the belt.

I'm a bit reluctant to post this as it may make you look stupid if I'm correct but have you re- checked the the rotation of the dizzy arm to make sure the leads are corresponding correctly :behindsofa: just a thought.

It is possible to grind/file down allen keys to fit as i've done it loads of times to get me out of the ****e. As regards the jack,it can only be an "O" ring thats blown so get a new one.

I always used to run the emery cloth over the shoes and drum to make sure all the preservative coating was removed and it certainly can't do any harm. I also used to slightly sand down the leading edge of the brake linings if i had problems with new shoes grabbing.

The best thing to do is get a paint shop to mix some up as the age of the paint on the Landy will most probably of gone off colour by now.

Never had one apart but it can't be that hard to do,after all it's only a geared electric motor.

I'm only guessing here but is the ballast resistor for the coil a separate fitment as it sounds like that could be the problem.

Take a look on fleabay for a meter and jobs a gooden.They are easy to use so if you can't get someone to set it up but get the meter just come back on here and i or someone else will be glad to walk you through.

Mate,If you've done signals then you should know this but anyway,don't key the mike or play around with it until you either swr it or have a dummy load or as said you WILL cook it. Can't help with the swr as you are miles away but they ain't expensive.
