    Srs ecu

Take it to a garage and they will plug a diagnostic machine thingy and that will tell you exactly what part of the srs is at fault. It cost me £20 last year.

    Air con info

Thanks for the replies guys, where about is the engine temp sensor on a td4. If I unplug this and fans run then them the control unit is ok or does this method just to prove the fan themselves work.

    Air con info

Hi all. Not sure if my air con is working properly. When turning it on air does not feel very cold. I have checked the air con pressure and it is reading just short of 35psi. It worked ok in the summer but does it work differently in the winter?. Also the fans do not run in the engine bay when...

    lumpy vibration @50mph+

Got this problem sorted now. It was the inner cv joint on the NSF drive shaft. The grease seems to have perished and turned to water as a result when drive shaft was take off to have a look one of the 3 bearings just fell off and the rest worn.

What do you carry in yours

Mine has a plastic box that fit in there from land rover so no wet things. I keep a jump leads and a basic tool kit plus the jack kit.

    It's only a scratch

I would not bother it will be more work than it looks. I had a front end bump last year but not as bad as this. It will cost you near the asking price to fix it. Plus it has got odd wheels, 5 spoke 6 spoke with and without the dimples.

    Want to change my wheels

I stand corrected. Now you mention it I do recall someone say very near the end of ten fl1 production the alloys got rid of the dimples.

    Want to change my wheels

The ones you want I have never seen on a later landy, well not around here anyway.

    Want to change my wheels

With those wheels I have no idea. I wanted those originally but could not be sure if they fit so went with what I got as they look similar.

    Want to change my wheels

These alloys are earlier one so these will fit any model. Later alloys have dimples between the stud bolts. Put up a pic of the ones on eBay and we will be able to tell you if they will fit or not.

    Want to change my wheels

Side pic They are alright I like them. I have gone for the thinner wheels as they cut through mud, snow and rain better than wide tyres. The tyres are a bit noisy but I expected that as I had similar ones on my defender.

    Work light Watts

I have one of these 27w LED work lamps but instead I mounted it on a spring hand clamp and a ciggie lighter plug on the end. I can mount it any where I like and having a 3 door there are roof bars all over the place. When finished you can pack it away so no one can try and nick it. It to is an...

    Want to change my wheels

I got myself another set of alloys for winter use. My original are 225/55/17. I now have on these they are 15" and tyres are kingpin ATs 195/80/15. Strangely these are the earlier version alloys even though they have the dimples between the nuts. The later ones are just plain but they fit my...

Freelander 3 door parcel shelf/ boot load cover

I got on of those in black. It is not an original part but well made. I don't understand why it has cup holders. The price has gone up now I got mine a few years ago for £99.

    Meeooow.....

I have a cat in my engine bay. It sleeps on top of the engine and leaves it hair on the bonnet sound proofing material. I wondered what it was at first then I saw the foot prints.

    unusual occurance

Something similar happened to me when I first went to see the freelander. After coming back from the test drive and a final look around the alarm on the house next door went off And when the owner went to lock the car via the fob it would not lock neither fob would work. Then the alarm seized...

Am I making the right decision?

I'd say the newer defender is is just as reliable as the freelander, the problem is really how long can you keep it for before someone nicks it. Free landers are not really targeted. I had an ex BT H reg 90, grey outside yellow inside. And it was a bit tatty but it was sound and reliable and I...
