Hi mate , they deffo thought it was the fuel pump too ! fitted one today and no different at all :mad: My bill is going to be off the scale for trial and error !

Hi , mine had wrangler's on when I bought it , nice road tyre . Then I put Michelin's on , very good but have just put two General's on the back (all I could afford ) and they are awefull , sitting in the back you can hardly hear anyone talking in the front ! these still cost £145 for the pair .

Hi all , had some new tyres put on the back and they do kick up a lot of road noise but have noticed at 65-70 (just before it dies but that is another story :rolleyes: ) that I get a moaning noise that comes and goes every couple of seconds , sort of builds and then goes quiter and then builds...

Right , an update . Been in today and had a new fuel filter (turns out never had one in 90,000 miles !) rang tonight and was told to fetch it , sorted . Took it for a spin and fair doos it was flying , 0 - 85 in no time YEEEEEEEH!:D then after a couple of short runs back to loosing power at 70 ...

Hi mate , I know bugger all about cars but when mine lost power and smoked black smoke it was the big hose on top of the engine that was split at the back side out of sight . Untill someone of some use posts may be worth a look . atvb Paul.

Mine is the same although to be fare has been giving low power below 2500 for the last month , deffo worse in the cold and that is on shell vmax . Has new MAF , all hoses , pipes , filters , valves , turbo ok and still like a wet weekend . Goes in for the last time next week to see if they can...

Yes , might be worth a try . My local garage are on good terms with a chap from shukers , they were going to speak to him today I'll let you know if they find anything out . A chap on another site with a rover 75 has the same trouble so was hopeing he would get his sorted and post his findings :D

Yes I have driven it without the MAF connected and it's a different car , as it should be at low end and seems smoother as well , as soon as it's connected back up back to sqare one and flat as a pancake . It has a brand new genuine landrover MAF on ( the second one ) and is still the same as...

Thanks Stephen but had that hose replaced in the summer , as you say black smoke and no power . All hoses and pipes checked twice by two different people just to make sure nothing was missed . atvb Paul.

no oomph most of the time but when I change gear for a second it does feel like it's holding back before starting to slowly build speed till it gets to around 2500 then it takes off as normal
