Today has been a busy day sorted out back axle fitted new panhard with polybushes and have always had a power steering leak from somewhere we today i was investigating and found it is voming from the shaft seal.had a poke around now when i turn left it has power steering and no loss of fluid now...

And ordered some new hub seals and stub axle seal then i no there all new and done

Well the breather was blocked so have bodged 1 for now and ordered a wading kit for it now

Im using the landrover hub seals which i was given in a landrover bag. I use timken bearings and i bought a bag full of bits of ebay in which were 8 bearings and 4 hub seals ftc4785. I 4t ep90 came in to the hub which was normal and the hub seal stop leaks

How come this trouble has only just started tho if breather is building up pressure wouldnt it have blown them before it only this past fortnight since i changed bearing

So am best replacing the breather tube and the connector and then do both the stub seal and hub seal if split which i think it will be

So just been out to tip bout 2 mile away so 4 mile round trip and no leak so would a blocked breather build up pressure to leak out or the ep90 is thickened up and not thin enough to leak out. It only happening after a long run so its when its hot

Yes bearing are tight enough there was ep90 in the hub both times so would you say change the stub axle seal then

I changed a bearing the other weekend and went work all week bout 4 mile a day and no leak then went out for run to in laws 30 mile round trip and hub seal ****ing out oil on the hub i just changed bearing on. Whipped hub off and seals got split on the lip to the stub so changed it and emery...

All my mods r on my policy with flux and didnt hange my premium. Ive got a tubular bumpet aswell and not guy doesnt mention anything either

I just used jack to hold tank and cradle up then left hand for nut and washer and right hand to start the bolt in the then swap for spanners when tight no other fancy tools needed. Easy peasy

When i tried to buy the nuts with backing playes they told me they were 35 pound for 2. And to just tape a nut over a washer and hold it in place with open end spanner and bit of patience

Find a lad breaking 1 in ur area and buy what u need off that

Did you push cap in and fot the circlip agin which which are supplied with new ujs. As that wouldnt have happened if circlip was fitted in the groove

Whatever size u want to get the panel 1s not ther samet bulb as what youve got in it standard

Doing a rear bearing today on my 96 disco and the caliper bolt seems to have been cross threaded ive re tapped it and itl do but just wandered if that part can be replaced on these axles as i want to fully refurb the axles at some point.
