    Freelancers are great...

Freelanders (ok, and also other Land Rovers) have big buttons that you can use wearing gloves.

    Question for dog owners

I would say that the blanket would be fine. Are you worried the pup might get carsick? My golden retriever made a 500Km trip when he was 8 weeks old. No barking, no mess in the car :) although he travelled in the front with us. We waited until he was much too big to travel in the front and...

I've been doing the same as Sinvogel and Roshe25. When reaching a full stop at the lights, push button and put into N. I'd like to hear more about the other view.

    Td4 auto fuel economy.

As Sinvogel says, different size and profile tires, different pressures. It makes perfect sense and the recommended pressures stated in the manual don't mention that. There is no uneven wear on the new set of tires :) Regarding fuel economy, all mods appear reasonable and could make a...

    Td4 auto fuel economy.

There is a useful site for us non-imperial, continental metric types : Online Unit Converter Your Td4 is doing 20 to 25 mpg. Mine is an Td4 auto and I'm getting a steady average of 33mpg (8,5L/100km). I know it can do better, but i often do inner city short trips and it doesn't...

HDC on the Freelander off again, quickfix

It seems a good [How to] anyway :) Perhaps it ought to be moved by a mod?

    windscreen wiper linkage

If you mean the 6 plastic caps that hold the air intake cover... you can just replace the bits that broke (the top is so thin I don't think they're supposed to come off anyway) with a screw. Just as long as they hold the plastic caps. Makes it easier to undo next time :D

    TD4 Erratic engine revs

Could also be the fuel pressure sensor. The one on mine had different nominal and real values and the ECU kept trying to compensate, hence the erratic idle and eventual stalling. It was just a matter of cleaning it and adjusting the contacts. So far, so good :)

    Display fault?

Hi there! No external temp - it's not a bug, it's a feature :) Heater should work work when outside temp drops below 5Cº (Only happened once where I'm from since I have it) It could have failed to start and you need to reset the FBH - Pull its fuse F5 IIRC. Maybe a search could be of more help.

    swapping tyres round

You say you have balanced the tires, but have you checked the tracking as well? Even if you have, it's worth doing it in a different shop. When I changed tires, it took 3 hours to do it correctly on mine. Since then no vibration at speed whatsoever.

    Temperature Sensor Q

I would say that the external temp sensor mentioned in RAVE concerns only the fuel burning heater (FBH).
