    is it the dreaded box

Nice one, this seems like a good way to buy one as presumably you ended up paying less than you would have for a fully working vehicle, yet you know that yours has a sound 'box. :)

    Blank Sat Nav screen

You can get the broken one repaired for about £75 plus postage to Eastern Europe, have a search on eBay for "mk3 sat nav repair". I'm planning on sending mine off soon to get it sorted.

    Buying a p38a with problems...?

Airbags are not too bad, £250ish for a full set and you'll probably want to refurb the compressor too. The odometer thing I believe is that its had either a new instrument pack or new BECM (the car's brain). The milage is stored in both these items and the error means that the values don't...

    dash says 14.5 MPG

Is yours diesel/petrol/lpg? When I bought mine I drove home on petrol and reset the computer once I hit the motorway, I got 18 mpg on that journey. Last weekend I did a long motorway run on LPG and the trip didn't get above 14 mpg. I didn't reset it before the second journey but expected it...

    eas suspension

The 1990 Range Rover is a different model to your 1998 one so they wont fit. The P38 Range Rover was made between 1995 & 2002.

    Stereo has gone silent???

I swapped my cd changer for a line in input and that was part of the colored multiplug. I assumed the angled connection was the aerial connection, no idea what the smaller one is though - Looks similar to the GPS aerial that runs into the satnav unit in the boot...

    Ok. A few little problems...

No part numbers, I bought 1 metre of this hose (6mm hose) from ebay and cut the two bits I needed with a Stanley Knife. If you check the pipes on yours you should be able to see easily if they're cracked. They hoses just pull off so no special tools required. Oh, I have about 0.8 metres of...

Colour coding grey strip under lights?

Is that little strip grey out of the factory? I'm thinking of painting my grille/bumpers/little bits under the lights black but couldn't work out if they were grey originally or just faded.

Diary of a first time Range Rover owner

Cool, will check out the MAF & TPS readings tonight. I should have taken some time off work to coincide with the RR arrival, so many things I want to do and so little time.

Diary of a first time Range Rover owner

Yes its a petrol. I couldn't read the codes with the engine running (got a failure to talk message on the Nanocom), only with the key in position 2. Both faults came back after a short drive. My googling last night revealed that the P1000 code is used on lots of cars to show that the ECU...

Diary of a first time Range Rover owner

I finally got chance to try out my Nanocom tonight with all the proper unlock codes activated. There were a few faults here and there on various systems which I cleared out and then went for a drive. These two faults came back after the drive: I'm about to start googling but if anyone...
