Diary of a first time Range Rover owner

It was this stuff. They do it in a range of other sizes too.

Has anyone tried these instructions for removing the dash? I'm wondering if that would be easier than trying to do it the shortcut way.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Diary of a first time Range Rover owner

Today has been one of those good day/bad day kind of days... First the good, my leather dye finally arrived meaning I could fix up my steering wheel. Before: After: The bad? As I was getting out of the vehicle after finishing the wheel I noticed some discolouration of the carpet...

    Ticking sound and abs accumulator

You can buy the accumulator separately to the pump for about £100

    Which version should I buy?

The diesels aren't as well appointed inside either. DHSE's seem quite rare and almost never have sat nav, there are loads of petrol vogues though which come with all the toys. I have a 4.6 Vogue.

Yep, got the part sat at home waiting, was £97 all in from island 4x4 which was the cheapest I could find. Mine is coming on every other press right now so hoping ill see a nice improvement once I fit it.

Peered under the bonnet to check the coolant level and scope out the ABS accumulator location in prep for replacing it this week.

Was fed up with my faded door handles and the unrealistic claims of "Forever Black" so I decided to bling things up a bit:

AA knackered my car and now deny liability

He killed your sat nav by not leaving it 2 minutes to shut down correctly before disconnecting the battery. At the very least you should be able to get something out of them for that as the procedure is explained in the owners manual.

    LED lights

Putting headlights aside for a moment, has anyone replaced their sidelights/indicators/brake light bulbs with the canbus LED versions? I really like the instant on/off effect you get with "proper" LED lights and was wondering if these bulbs would give a similar effect on an older vehicle?

parts and workshop manual on ipad

The version of RAVE that's generally available to download is a windows application. It doesn't matter how you try and get it onto the iPad it will not work. I found a single PDF of the P38 workshop manual that didn't require a password. That one does work on the iPad as its just a PDF file...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Decided that my ABS Accumulator is kaput and I need to fit a new one. Time to stop playing with the cosmetic stuff and get my hands dirty under the bonnet!

    OBDII reader & Android

I got this to try and diagnose a fault with my old Merc and while it connected and everything it didn't read the fault. The live data stuff worked though, and it tracks your position and can present you a map with a colour coded line indicating your route & speed :) Not tried it on the RR...

    Beware

How does the Evoque existing diminish your hard work to buy a totally different model? If the people running around in brand new Evoques were cruising around in 3 year old white L322's with chrome wheels instead, would that make you feel better? Also, P38's can be bought for peanuts now, so...

    Beware

What a load of rubbish! Lots of people don't want or need a vehicle the size of an S class or 7 series and would choose an E class or 5 series in its place. Theres also the case for the E63/M5 versions, which personally I'd choose over an S class or 7 series. You've basically written off...

    Beware

I think the Evoque looks great, and as for the claims of it being a Mondeo money Range Rover? They start at £30k! I don't think many on here have spent that much buying their Range Rover. Do the people who hate the Evoque also hate the RR Sport?
