What did you do with your Range Rover today

Swore at it again. Going on holiday in the early hours of the morning and the tailgate won't open. Wonderful.

    Gearbox upgrade

That's good hear actually. I can put up with strangeness and unexplained occurrences as long as it doesn't leave me stranded by the side of the road. Sadly I commute via train, my ticket price would pay for an awful lot of P38 maintenance!

Service today: more on the to-do list

Sorry for the hijack odysseus... So looking here shows a variety of length and diameter cherry bomb centre boxes, does anyone know the diameter of the standard exhaust? What difference would the length make, shorter would be louder? Finally, if I were to roll into my local tyre/exhaust...

    P38 Auto gearbox selector

Have you got the button pressed in all the way when shifting to park? If I start to release it early then the lever goes into P but the red selector light stays on R. Ensuring I've got a firm grasp if the button on the selector prevents this from happening. This actually happened to me when I...

You need the Motronic engine management code I believe (You can confirm this with BBS before ordering). New it comes to about £400 all in.

Each Nanocom has its own ID and the unlock codes are linked to that. My unlock code won't work on your device.

...or buy one second hand and add additional unlocks to activate it for your vehicle. I got a used one unlocked for diesels and added the motronic unlock and it worked out a good £100 less than buying a brand new one that just did the motronic.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

So when the battery was actually flat I got no warnings at all, now I've replaced the batteries when I turn the engine off I get a "Keyfob Battery Low" message come up. Whats that all about?

Would replacing the centre box with something like a cherry bomb make it loud and boomy on the motorway since you're sat on top of it? What about the universal back boxes on eBay? I imagine fitting them would be a pain but could give some nice rumble without replacing everything.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Oh, I assumed it would all come apart easily and I could transplant the current key blade into the new housing. Maybe I'll just stump up for a new key and let the wife have this one. :)

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Key fob was totally flat when I got back to the car after work. After unlocking with the key and setting the alarm off for about 5 mins (embarrassing the missus in the process) I entered the EKA code via the Nanocom and got it home. Just picked up some batteries from Tesco and all working as...

    Tail gate stuck

Mine stopped working and at the weekend I took it out and tested it with a multimeter. It all seemed to work ok and once I reassembled it it worked fine. Go figure!

Are the L322's OBD compliant? If not then why not?

    Good afternoon peeps

EKA code is obtainable from a main dealer once you have the logbook. A new key is about £170 ish if it has been ruined by washing. Engine temp stuff I have no idea about. :)

What did you do with your Range Rover today

I've got a bluetooth thingy hooked up to the stock HiFi, the thing that annoys me most is that when you turn the ignition on it activates and the phone hooks up, but when you start the engine it kills power to everything else and the phone doesn't seem to pick it up automatically again. I dont...

    Diagnosing Air Con Faults

I think blend motors control temperature and the distribution motor controls which vents operate. Sadly I think the distribution motor is the hardest of all to get at.

Have a good read of that page to be sure first, it varies depending on the standard fit one you have.
