Disco Get together - Car Clinic?

Sorry could not think of a better title :o Anyway... pre disco ownership, i used to frequent a similiar forum for my other car, and every so often, as a group we would get together and spend a day (usually weekend) where a few of us like minded owners would try and help as a group, to sort out...

    Dynachip

Well had my Disco remapped by Mike yesterday.... very pleased with the result. I don't think the car is gonna win any performance awards, as its clearly not designed to be a racer, however, that said, what a difference it has made. It feels so much more useable, with noticeably more grunt and...

    New Disc and Pads

The good thing is... they don't cost an arm and a leg to replace, especially as its a DIY job, so its good to experiment and find the brands that suit. I'll see how these go, and if i'm happy i'll keep them, otherwise, i'll try another brand. Its good to get feedback from other forumers though...

    New Disc and Pads

Yes i know what you mean... i have fitted similiar discs on previous cars and they do seem prone to 'furring' over when wet... will see how they go. The only critisism i would have so far, is that the green stuff pads do seem to produce a bit more dust than standard... but i can live with that...

    New Disc and Pads

I did intend to do the rears at some point because i know the pads were a little low, however, upon closer inspection today, i discovered that the caliper on the rear nearside was sticking. I removed the wheel and caliper only to discovery that the piston had partially seized causing the pads...

Warning Lights 2001 Disco - TC, ABS and Off Road Suspension Mode

Well it went into Steve Parkers LR this morning, and i was really hoping that i may have got away with just replacing the ABS sensor, but alas, it was the hub that was badly corroded and there was play in the bearing  So it was a new hub assembly  not cheap but i do intend on keeping...

    New Disc and Pads

Since i bought the Disco last week, i noticed that under braking, i would get a bit of a steering wobble, I could also feel the brake pedal 'pulsing' at the same time....all these are symptoms of warped discs. The discs and pads ones fitted appeared o.k but had seen better days, so off they...

    EGR kit fitted

Got mine from JGS-4x4 on Fleabay... £35 notes plus postage I think looking at the kit, its over priced for what it is, however quality is good and comes with good instruction (as it happens, these weren't req'd, its really straight forward if you can use a spanner and a screwdriver) Land...

    EGR kit fitted

Yeah... i cleaned as much as i could out of the inlet manifold. And also of course there was the EGR valve itself causing an obstruction, that too was all gunked up  The whole installation was very easy and the EGR pipework came away with no problems at all... looks nice and tidy...

    EGR kit fitted

Hi all, Bought myself an EGR blanking kit and fitted it this afternoon.... I have read many threads on this topic and i know the jury is out as regards the benefits, however in my opinion the disco just seems to 'breath' a bit easier and feels as though its running a bit smoother. Could...

    New Disco woes

That was my thought.. but i had to ask. Just rang the garage who did the initial air con charge...they are happy to have a look for me and sort the problem. It appears to be coming from the top of the receiver/drier and most likely a seal or something, so fingers crossed it is straight...
