Well enjoy working on your pride and joy…found the same working on my old pal… a lot of the parts I found were not quite to the same standard as the old stuff…bit of a mine field finding parts. Shop carefully boss. 👍

Hello mate. An F reg would not have had the 300 tdi engine. It might have been fitted in place of the original engine. Probably a diesel 19J 2.5. It might have had a bit of ropey wiring work done on it. If you can get yourself a wiring diagram and give it a good check.

I did pal. Actually fitted new ones as I replaced both doors with new ones. The old doors were rotted out. I just wonder if the heater matrix was not of best quality and was not doing the heat exchanging effect very good. Checked every part of the system.

I did pal,rebuilt the old beast which i finished last year. Just done the head gasket and gave the block a good flush,radiator too and new heater matrix and bled the system as per manual and its still pretty poor,its a bugger. Heater box was stripped down and rebuilt too...land rovers eh

Yeah, mobile cold store if you ask me! I’ve got bits of soundproofing/lagging everywhere. Tried every trick in the book to get the beast to warm up(300 tdi 90). Warm air just demists the window…just🤬. I made my peace with the green monster and just accept it’s cold city when on the move…Norfolk...

As above. Try paintman panels. Great quality, only place I’ll go now. 👍

Had same issue as you. Did basically what Miktdish has said above. It worked. Had wrong sensor put in. 👍

Hello mate. Good hard sharp tap with the spanner going clockwise to loosen. Maybe lever a piece of wood on one of the other pulleys to stop engine turning. 👍

Temp sender is a thermo resistor- need to match it to the engine. Put a new sensor in my 300 tdi and it went off scale. Old one back in just fine. Complicated beasts eh.

Engine crane…decent set of tools…Haynes manual…Land Rover forum to ask questions…good safety practices…careful sourcing of quality parts…bit of common sense…nothing you and your lad couldn’t do. I’d get stuck in if I were you guys…git some!
