where they left them loose I wonder if the inner race has worn into the hub and now no matter how much tightening will not cure it

it can only be pad knock off caused by play in one of the bearings (had similair fault with a group 4 Escort Ari Vatanens) years ago it turned out to be an inner wheel bearing was worn and no amount of adjusting would get rid of it, air in the system would give the it all the time.

the way that we test disco's, drop the front wheels into the rollers / chock the rear wheels at front and back / test front brakes / drive vehicle forward /chock front wheels / test rear brakes / to test handbrake (as directed by our local VOSA examiner) start the rollers together pull up gently...

the bracket is LR's idea of a steering guard, diff will work any way round
