    205/80/16 gives an outer circonference of 230.72 cm (sorry my program gives metric answers...) 255/65/16 gives 231.82 cm, not much different

    no idea how it's done, but speedos are usually security-locked so one can't modify the total distance for the vehicle (no problem to open it, but might become one if you want to resell the car later)

    no, it was an English car, registered in the UK from 1995 to 2009 I bought it there and imported it myself into France, but it was described as "Body:Estate" and "Taxation class: private/light goods" on the original DVLA certificate

    I think to remember there are 6 bolts, 3 holding the pump on a flat metal bracket and 3 holding in turn the bracket to the engine, so you need to take every other bolt probably better working from underneath and you might need thin spanners as they sometimes use for bicycle repairs if not...
