Hi, been working through the list of stuff to do of my ever troubled disco, when I was under it the other day I noticed that a mounting point on the chassis had nothing mounted to it, I have attached some photos. Not sure is its there in relation to a LHD model or a bit missing..Was hoping...

I would check the chassis, get underneath it with a torch and screw driver/pry bar and have a good poke around, looking for rust, look for play in the track rods, bushes etc. Check the state of the rear disks, they can seize so they will have rust/pitting on them if the pads are not coming in...

Thanks for all of the advise, I had a bit of a search today and I'm 100% convinced that it is illegal to use one of these A frames in the uk (so same ish I guess for the rest of europe) for those that are interested...

well to give an example we have a transit connect at work. It needed new disks and pads it came to €981 just for the parts compared to £250 on euro car parts... ferry is only 50 quid and no tolls, as I don't fancy taking on the motorway! anyone have any idea how legal it is?

I have a disco 300 and I'm currently in the french alps. The problem is my 17 seat transit minibus is broken, I'm not sure what is wrong with it and do not want to get ripped of by one of the many dodgy french mechanics that I have had dealings with over the years... so my plan is tow it back...

thanks for the replies, its a non abs and it really dosent take much to lock the front brakes up, i just have to press the brakes under normal use or even think about it and they lock! its my first land rover, so im not to sure what the brakes are like.. I have never changed the fluid, and...

The symptoms would be diesel leaking out over the engine and floor, the MPG would also suffer. Easy and cheap to fix, just pull of the pipe, cut a new piece the same length and push back on. 3.2mm braided fuel hose works fine, about £3 per meter on ebay.
