checked out the vcu on my xedi year2000 Got a reading of 35lbs/ .There is no brakeing effect when reversing on full lock .I have recently done a modificaton to my vcu to eliminate ird wind up as it was starting to bind up severly and it has been great

slave cylinder and master cylinder are all one unit.The gearbox and ird do NOT have to be removed

I have a 2000 xedi and I am pleased with it .Done some changes to it and its ok

my vcu had the symtoms of potential faliure after testing .Drilled a6mm hole in it got the silicone fluid out of it .Next put a grease niple in it and filled it with grease .Put a air hole on the oppisite side .Removed the grease nipple sealed both holes.This is a basic outline of what i did...

Mine made the same sound replaced the anti roll bar bushes No more noise. Grab hold of the bar and see if you can get any side ways movement if you can there is your problem

Hi had the same problems with mine. Put in three new glow plugs ,did not bother about the one behind the injector pump. starts good now,and we have cold winters Hope this helps kiwi
