Hi chap and welcome to the farm...long and the short of it is get a diesel, td4 if ya can afford it drive it before ya buy it and reverse it on hard lock if it dont wanna go backwards on hard lock ya got vcu issues, drive it and listen fer cluncks in the back and the front when putting power on...

Perkins Prima into a Landrover

There are a couple of companies supplying the bits to do a Prima conversion for the land rover, and if you're going down the buying bits route I would reccomend...
can you post a link here from the ebay site for it, might give the info we need to help you chap...sounds like a perkins prima might need an adaptor plate new engine mounts needs sherpa sump pan altenator and bracket and flywheel if I recall right...good luck chap...;)

see plenty around with non lr wheels on so you should be able to get em. test fit em before buying em would be the best bet there me thinks. make sure you tighten the wheel nuts though as I bought a set that would fit the studs but once tightened were fouling...
