    Rocker shaft bolts

No, all the tappet lock nuts were tight, that's what makes me wonder if the followers are worn? Could be of course that the gaps were set wide by the garage but the bomp bomp noise from the induction was not there when I first picked the truck up?

    Rocker shaft bolts

Right, bit long winded this but stay with me! I had a bent rod replaced, fuel pump rebuilt, new cam belt, woodruff key and head gasket, all going well though it always sounded slightly noisy on one tappet, fast forward a couple of thousand miles and I start to get a bomp bomp noise from...

It's amazing that they still run, rod on mine had to have one side ground off to remove it, so much smoother to drive now.

Do you need to turn the music down to hear the voice from the engine or do you keep your 'medical stethoscope' permanently in your ears just in case? Sorry, I'm delving into sarcasm now.

Well I've just been down the motorway, speedo showing 110 (kmh) as I came off the slip road and into normal traffic my engine spoke to me, it said " hammer me again like that and I'll make you deaf" . . . . . :)

    2.5 N/A troubles

Well I've driven a few ex army 90 and none of them got near 70 mph let alone 90mph , my 110 when sick would struggle to do 60, all of them struggled with long climbs as well. I don't mind it as it has a certain charm but it's no ball of fire.

    2.5 N/A troubles

Well the previous owner had just rebuilt the head and fitted new stem seals in an effort to reduce the smoke, he of course knew nothing of it being in water . . . He was the first owner from the MOD and ran it round for over a year, suppose the army could have done the damage before release...

    2.5 N/A troubles

So, I've owned my Tithonus for a few months now, it's constantly smoked when cold and seems to have a slight misfire, having had the injectors sorted and fitting new glow plugs my local diesel specialist diagnosed a worn and leaking pump so it went in to be done, they did the pump but found...

    It's a hello from me. . .

Hi, I'm Andy, I've been browsing here for a while now, I've wanted a Land Rover for some time but I've only just managed it! I would have liked a 90 but the kids and a dog mean it's turned into a 110, had to be ex army so I settled on a Tithonus 110. It's had new valve stem seals...
