    Moan

Product specific internet forums tend to be full of people seeking advice for something that has broken/gone wrong, by default they generally are not overjoyed at the thought of having to spend a fortune or hours working on whatever has gone wrong. Look in any of the specific vehicle forums on...

Replaced intercooler hose, now wont start and oil light on

Have you tried jumping the car? It really does sound like a flat battery - a few light bulbs use mA's, a starter draws Amps and relays, solenoids are in between the two. I have read through your posts quickly - if you haven't tried, then do!

    Fuel pump rip off

I'd say £600 from a garage isn't too bad if both pumps were changed - main pump is £300ish, secondary pump is £150ish so around £150 for labour is probably less than 3 hours inc VAT...

    2002 TD4 - another won't start....

All working beautifully again - new main pump (from land rover as the local factors ordered the wrong part...) So glow plugs were ok but no harm done by changing them - £350 in total to get my car running - thanks for all the help! Till the next time...

    2002 TD4 - another won't start....

A side issue that I had no idea about - battery went flat with all the attempts to start it so I removed it, charged it up - refitted it and had no idea the rear window opened when you do this - was only when I got called out to a fire at 2am and one of my colleagues picked me up (in the rain)...

    2002 TD4 - another won't start....

Well fingers crossed I've solved it - the fuel pump in the tank is faulty, I've removed it for further testing and it will sometimes turn but only for a fraction of a second and then stops and has to be manually turned before it will turn, again for a fraction of a second. Power supply to it is...

    2002 TD4 - another won't start....

I've taken the afternoon off to try and solve this problem: Removed Synergy2 but no change, still won't fire Got my Wife to spray easy start into the air intake and all the time she sprayed the car ran - lumpy but it ran, shortly after she stopped, it stopped - so fuelling issue? Next I...

    RAVE manual

Thanks, sorry I skimmed the owners manual topic as I already have that - came with the car and I was specifically looking for the RAVE/workshop stuff. Your link worked perfectly, thanks!

    RAVE manual

Hi All, Thought it might be a good time to find the RAVE stuff for my Freelander, searching here and google brings up green oval and lots of links to the same but nothing is there when I go to the link - apparently the bandwidth limit has been exceeded - so can anyone point me in the right...

    2002 TD4 - another won't start....

Ok, popped home and sprayed the stuff into the air intake, was only me there so was a case of spray and then try starting but it did fire in a lumpy fashion, then died several times - battery is a bit flat so I have removed it in order to charge and will try again. Got to remove the air box top...

    2002 TD4 - another won't start....

Cheers chaps, I'll get some easy start today - also I'm going to remove the synergy 2 I have fitted - this fault only occurred after fitting that so in the interests of proper testing I shall try it. The person I bought it on here from had snapped one of the clips on a connector so it is...

    Hmmm..... Non starter

Blimey enough of us with the same fault! Hope mine is fixed quicker - will keep you informed of how I do.

    2002 TD4 - another won't start....

Hi all, About 2 months ago my td4 failed to start, I'd driven 5 miles, parked up and went back within 15 mins - turned over but wouldn't start. Called the breakdown company but after 30 mins it suddenly fired into life and was fine. It did this another time when cold, I left it for a while...

    Frosty Windscreen (Inside and Outside)

I had this with my freelander and seem to have cured it... From many years of owning Alfas I am used to carrying a couple of litres of water in a bottle just in case they decided to get rid of their own water... As Land Rovers are by reputation as worse if not worse than Alfa's I kept a bottle...

    Starts then stalls...

Been doing more reading, as the car smokes a bit (slight under exaggeration) once started I'm beginning to suspect glow plugs... Reasonable assumption?

    Starts then stalls...

Recently I replaced the turbo hose as it had split, along with a reduction in umph the car would sometimes be a bit of an arse to start. Turbo hose replaced and car back to normal (syenergied) umph but still is a pig to start. Put key in and turn, dash lights lit, wait for glow to go out...

    Another loss of power

Have you replaced the MAF? Exactly the symptoms my Passat gave when the MAF died.

    Turbo whistle (td4)

Solved! I used an unusual technique called "opening the bonnet and looking", one learnt during my Alfa Romeo days. The air pipe (90 degree bend) that I believe connects to the turbo (front top right of engine) had a bigger split than Jordon. Goes better know which was a surprise as I hadn't...

    Turbo whistle (td4)

Thanks Rob, will do - I have noticed I only hear it under load, so just holding the revs at 2600 when stationary doesn't seem to produce it - only when accelerating.

    Turbo whistle (td4)

Hi All, I swear the engine has suddenly got loud when accelerating in turbo territory, sounds like a whistling fan coming from the passenger foot well. As soon as I back off the throttle it stops and doesn't do it until say 2000ish rpm Car seems to perform as well as it did, mpg ok. So is it...
