Never an easy desision. Personally I would carry on using them, Try to avoid leaving them in the sun if you dont do many miles. If they were dangerous the mot should pick them up. Caravan tyres often have full tread and have to be thrown away but thats the cost of safety.

Tricky one. Depends on how you use your car (motorways etc)? It’s probably sunlight that deteriorates your tyres. If you have concerns I would get the advice of a reputable tyre fitter to be on the safe side

I have had an anoying oil leak from my front bumper. Took it off and and its coming from around the end of the intercooler. All the connections are tight and no apparent damage. Anyone come accross this before?

What are you towing with?

Pressure sounds about right to me. Assume it is a single axle? Try to put anything heavy low down and over the axle (middle of the floor) load it so the nose weight is about 75kg (11 ish stone) failing that put a stabiliser on

What kind of Freelander is it? BMW or Ford? Wish they were on different sections because they are entirely different.

I had a top bearing replaced and it started making noises after just a couple of days so took it back to the garage. They took it back out and greased it. Been fine since (3 years)

Make sure you keep up to date with your service schedule. What age and mileage is it? Has it got a full service record of serving with recipes?

Which part of transmission? Take it back to the dealer you got it from and tell him to fix it.

Need to work on your diagnostics by the sound of it.

Freelander 2’s really need to be maintained regularly and as Nodge68 says common sense applied.

My service schedule says 10 years or 150k which sounds excessive to me. I bottled out and changed it at 100k.

What came out of it when you changed the fluid?

I think the later ones have a glow plug controller instead of a relay so it is feasible they can detect a failed glow plug but none of the diagrams I have show this. Look in the engine fuse box if it has a glow plug relay it won’t have a control module.

Check them before winter or wait to see if you have trouble starting. My original Land Rover plugs lasted just two years but typically they should last much longer so I don’t think there is hard and fast rule. Here is a video I posted a while back.
