Sounds like an inter cooler pipe. They are a bit notorious for failing. If it’s the intercooler let me know,I have a spare that needs to go.

You shouldn’t need to recode them. Just use them regularly to get them charged up.

That sounds like one or both strut top bearings. To check gently hold the top of the spring while an assistant turns the wheel side to side. If the bearings are dry or damaged you should feel it jump as it makes the noise. Be careful you don’t trap your arm!!! Bit of a faff to do but I...

Short runs in the winter kill the mpg. But long motorway runs in hot weather even with the air con on full, is right in its comfort zone as long as you resist the temptation to floor it. As Nodges says its a 2 ton brick.

Winter in UK about 24 mpg, Summer in Spain on motorways about 40 mpg. Possibly to do with cleaning the dpf?
