Well ... It's died. The good news ( if there is any ) is that it was freezing yesterday morning and it started 1st time. So I don't know if that extra glowplug has made a difference ( I know folk say you don't really need the plugs on Discos ) but it started fine. Now the very bad news...

Yup the thing that is wobbling around and throwing the serp belt off by a tooth and shredding the edge of it is the end camshaft pulley ( torsional dampener ). I'm just concerned that it's wobbling so much that the keyway is knackered. I'll get it off and have a look. Thanks Col

It's a big help Dave. Thanks for taking the time to explain fella. I've been reading that this is a common problem because people don't tighten it up properly. Apparently it needs tightening to 80 Nm torque. So I'll need to buy a decent torque wrench? So for now just get a new pulley on...
