The old land rover diesels will go on for years with the smoke, i have one thats pretty knakrd in my series 1! is a pig 2 start puffs blue smoke after about 30 seconds its all gone and pulls fine! You could just leave it and save yourself some work aslong as it not to bad!!

they will bolt straight in a series 3, if going in a series 2a or earlier clutch will need to be changed.

If it realy wont go! The drums are made of cast iron if your replaceing them anyways just crack them with sledge hammer!! My mate did this on his 109 was rather intertaining!

2.25 diesel all the way! toook mine through lake and grand canyon keeps chuggin! all though a little slow! If u stick wit metrol though sillicon round dizzy etc!

Just put myn on myseries 1, pull trac rod towards you, aply sum force to steering guard (irishmans scrwewdriver) and it goes strait on promise! Hope this helps Oh thats for a diff guard! dnt no about steering guard!

Hi, I just removed a front diff guard off a mates series 3 he is scraping. You just have to give the steering arm a tug to squeeze it past, its tight but it will fit without removeing the arm. When i got it home i put it on my series 1 and i had to do the same to get it on there. Hope this helps Jon

I am 16 and hopeing 2 insure my series 1 80 next year it has a 2.25 diesel. Who would be the best to insure with? Ps, tried to insure the 109 2.6 i have been givon (project) £2600! Think i will mot it and flog it!!!
