Had the same problem with my series 1, i adjusted the rod incorectly on the master cylinder to try and reduce peddle travel, it turned out the system wudnt let fluid flow back or replenish it. re adjusted the rod and it went strate through an mot. Hope this helps

so there is a difference between glow plugs and heater plugs? some guy up top of this thread say they are the same things! is the ballast resitor the coil loooking thing? cheers Jon

If you watched the series of scrappy racers on chanel 4. the barley pickers yellow tractors engine ran away with it itself and burnt all oil then broke some push rods i believe! it was some good TV it was pumping more smoke than a land rover diesel!
