Help me diagnose a persistent clutch hydraulics issue - mechanics?

Thanks for all the tips and experience - looks like it's time to get in there. I'm guessing with mechanics closed over the summer break they'll have a waiting list so I may as well do the flex hose myself while I'm waiting. Hopefully a part is available local, otherwise it's a weeks wait. My...

Help me diagnose a persistent clutch hydraulics issue - mechanics?

ok then, time to bite the bullet! It's going to the mechanics early next week. What puzzles me is that it is quite deterministic how I can 'reset' it with pumping - in fact, if I pre-emptively pump the clutch every 2mins, I never experience the problem (!) Of course, I do experience the pain...

Help me diagnose a persistent clutch hydraulics issue - mechanics?

Seems like a good idea. By suggesting I wait on the gearbox, are you inferring that (aside from the fluid discolouration) that the breaking down flexi hose is causing these clutch symptoms? Air leak sure at connection sure - but I see no fluid loss, or leaks externally ... It would have to be...

Help me diagnose a persistent clutch hydraulics issue - mechanics?

In the puma/MT82 the salve is located inside the transmission:  It's the same amount of work as accessing the clutch itself - i.e. if your odometer is high, you may as well swap out the clutch at the same time... You can see why I'm keen to avoid it if possible! ;)

Help me diagnose a persistent clutch hydraulics issue - mechanics?

Good to know regarding the oil cross-contamination - thanks for confirming that. So ok, flex and/or slave - aside from the bleed valve and various line connections that's all that is left anyway, and it would seem the next step - but what I'd love to understand is how the symptoms I describe...

Help me diagnose a persistent clutch hydraulics issue - mechanics?

Hello all. Persistent issue I'm trying to diagnose before sending it into the workshop. The issue is cyclic so I'll start with it in the 'working fine' state: Clutch fine, all good Engine is warm, I stay in one gear for say 3-5 minutes (motorway for instance) Clutch now feels like it's got...

    Clutch Hydraulics confusion

Reverse bled it today and found the offending belches of air. Running well! Thanks for the info :)

    Clutch Hydraulics confusion

Good point on the flexi, that's a good way to test the air in the line theory - it's near the slave end so I will try!

PUMA Battery Reconnection Instructions - immobiliser/alarm concern

Hello all, I've had a PUMA Defender 2008 sitting with the battery disconnected for over a week. I disconnected as per the manual and the alarm didn't complain. I searched the internet first for instructions on reconnected it and have read a few horror stories of alarms going off and...

    Clutch Hydraulics confusion

Hello all, PUMA model Defender 2008. Bit of a head scratcher here after replacing my clutch master cylinder, I've bled it and had no bubbles coming through for quite a few pumps, but now that I've topped up the reservoir and closed the bleed valve the clutch pedal will still fall to the floor...

2008 Puma 110 Defender - interior lights stay on in 'Auto' setting

Hello All, Interior lights stay on in 'Auto' setting. Using 'Auto' mode both rear and front interior lights are staying on when all doors shut. The alarm will not beep at me when I arm it (indicating door switches may well be OK). 'Off' mode switches lamp off. When I manually depress a door...
