So I checked it this morning and yes it is leaking, probably 3 or 4 drips a day, so I'm going to try and fix it next weekend. If the bolt is 1/4" bsp then what size do I want to need to tap it out with? Sorry bit of noob when it comes to tapping things. ;) Any help is appreciated

Yeah I don't really want a whole set, thanks for looking though. I've found a few kits on ebay e.g. M13 Oil / Sump Pan Thread Repair Kit / Set | eBay However I just need to know what size the original bolt is and I'm not keen on taking it out to measure it really. It's 19mm head if that helps...

Oversized plug fix looks like good, does anyone know where I can get one? I'll see in the morning if the landy has been leaking and marking it's territory on the street :)

I'll be honest I wasn't torquing it because I couldn't find my torque wrench this morning, I really didn't do it very hard but maybe not very hard was too hard. I might try taping the next size up when I do the next service. Until then I'll just worry about it falling out, blasting oil all over...

Thanks for the tips, it's a 300tdi with the 19mm hex bolt. I thought it might be the crushable washer giving so I'm gonna leave it for a couple of days and see if it leaks. If its ok then I will leave it till next service and then either replace the sump or Heli coil the thread. Another job for...

Ok so I was doing a service and when I put the sump bolt back in it went reasonably tight then it went looser so I stopped turning it and for some stupid reason instead of taking it out and trying to fix it I just went and put the oil in. :confused: So far it's not leaking but do you think I...

I saw my 90 300 tdi csw hit 77 at the weekend. I was only alerted to my overspeed by the insane whining noises coming from all directions. It felt so quiet when I got back down to my safe 60 speed!!

I've got 5 freestyle alloys that I'm planning on selling if you or anyone else are interested? I'm going to swap them for black modular wheels when I find a buyer for the freestyles. They are in amazing condition as my 300tdi has only done 27,000 and still on the original tyres :)

I did my slave at the same time, seen as you are gonna drain the systems, it's worth doing both just in case and using OEM parts.

Mine is, 300tdi with 26k on the clock, been sitting in a barn for years, had a respray looks / drives like new. Do a 200 mile round trip to London every other week!

You might also want to check under the carpet in the load space if it's a station wagon as mine filled all your criteria and I've just discovered the seal between the top half of the body and the tub is leaking in one tiny space causing the load space to fill up with water! The fix requires...
