    Many a slippage

Hi all, I've got nothing to make the comparison with but a friend of mine thinks that my RR 2.5 DSE auto gearbox has more slippage while pulling away than it should have. I hadn't noticed because I've not had one before and the lovely 2.5 is a bit slow. Usually, advice would be to...

    Tailgate tantrum

Hi guys, My Thanks to gashead1974, Sandyt and Datatek. Climbed into the back, removed carpet panel and freed sticky lock. Done a quick lube, and all sorted so thanks for that. Hopefully, I'll be able to return the favor sometime... Geoff

    Tailgate tantrum

Thanks for that... Presumably I use the hammer to beat the crap out of something/body until I feel better?

    Tailgate tantrum

Hi all, P38 tailgate button not responding. rear doors/fuel access working okay so I don't think it's a fuse. Could be something I've done while locking/unlocking but I've been through the handbook and I don't think that's it so... Where do I go from here? Thanks in advance, Geoff

Bet u cant work this one out?!?!

Earthing the terminal leads is a good tip, thanks for that and yeah, get the EKA code out, in fact, get it tattooed to the back of your hand for quick reference in the future!:) D

Bet u cant work this one out?!?!

I've done it on my 2.5 DSE and only had to reset the windows. That involves winding them up and down once or twice that's all. I'm not suggesting a reset will definitely clear it but it's a start. D

Bet u cant work this one out?!?!

Have you tried disconnecting the battery and counting to 5? Then re-connect. Make the reconnection firm so there's no arcing. You'll have to reset the windows but this would be my first action. All the best, D

    Diesel & chips

Hi all, Does anybody have an opinion about whether or not it is worth getting a 2.5 BMW DSE with 92,000 miles on the clock chipped? I'm thinking about getting an 'Alive Tuning' upgrade. Or should I spend the dosh on a Faultmaster? I value your thoughts... Ta D

    Central locking motors

Hi guys, Is it possible to replace just the motors in the door locks then? I thought it had to be the complete lock replaced. This is for a '99 P38 DSE D

    Rave anyone?

Before I posted the original thread I searched FAQ for 'RAVE' and it returned no hits. I've searched the forum for references to RAVE but all the subsequent links I tried lead nowhere and the most recent seemed to be a year or so ago. So, Can anyone point me in the direction of RAVE for the P38...

    Mysterious Key Fob "Synch" Problem

Hi Tony, Glad you cleared the fault but sorry to appear dim; what do you mean by the 'door latch'? Cheers, D

Heater hot AND cold at the same time!

Hi KJT, First of all, follow kooky_guy's advice and follow that link, it helps diagnose which motors are at fault and how to go about getting at them. I have a similar problem as you and I've just bought 3 blend motors from a breakers on ebay for £80.00. Guess what I'll be doing at the...

    Courtesy lights...

Hi chaps, Thanks for that, the auto set for the courtesy lights is on and all the doors operate the lights except for the front passenger door. So, as the central locking for both the front doors isn't working and as I've been putting off the inevitable mind snapping fiddling about that is...

    Courtesy lights...

Hi Rewmer, So the switch is part of the lock/locking motor assembly? Okay, I'll look there for a wire hanging off, otherwise it's £135.00 for a new assembly! Thanks for that. D
