    well the ball joints out!!, Big vice, a similliar sized (old) socket, touch of heat, a sledgehammer, soaked over night,7 hard hits BINGO!! so its been cleaned and got a coat of red lead, will follow Busters guide on fittng the new ball joint, will hopefully get the Arms & brackets off...

    agreed but i'm a notherner, got a press at work which will do the job, unless i have my weetabix later and a couple of taps it'll fall out!! Busters Tips are full of mega tips, but mines a 19 yr old Disco, with what i beleive original fitting's. bemmy

    At last got the little blighter off, Breaker bar, extension & 1 3/16 socket + 3 foot metal pipe, heard it crack chuffed to bits, Sat/sun will start to strip A-frame down, treat & paint insert new Polyurethene bushes & nuts & bolts. then take the fulcrum bracket to work and use the press to...

    Evening Guy's, I'm after x5 (if possible) 16 wheels steels to fit my 300tdi, i'm going to fit 7.50 16 (tubed) to give it that off road look rather than the standard alloys that are fitted. I'm in Colchester but willing to travel upto 50miles. Many thanks Bemmy

    Dan, try giving the prop a good shove towards the front end then just put a pry bar between the bush and spiggot/flange, and again pry. should just pop off, Are you removing the centrallising pin? Bemmy

    MikeyT, thought it looked familiar, not a stalker just confirming, are you at the old farm with the wind mast? just cutting the pinion housing off my disco as i snapped an easy out while trying to remove the threaded rod i also snapped off:o. then anti roll bar bushes & joints replace if time...

    sheared water pump bolt

    Wickenuk, i did the same as disco harrogate, still going strong after a year, just use a good sealant and give the bolts at the bottom an extra nip. Planning to strip mine in summer and replace all bolts that secure the mount to the engine, will use a stud extractor + heat toremove the critter...

    Well its all done and 3 days in no leaks etc.. so chuffed to bits and more confident when do the LHS, (will get new brake lines made before hand), Cheers Ratus

    Got the lines made up for £7.50 a quick fix, at Anglia Hydraulics (really helpful), so get it put back together and get the lads at work to refill the sytem on monday, and be squared away again. Must remember to clamp brake hose then disconnect caliper. Thanks again for ideas & help. Bemmy
