Thanks to all who offerred advice . I have actually changed the oil cooler for one from the scrap yard .It is the newer round type .It appears to be more robust and does not require the pipe to cooler transition piece ,and only cost £25 and it fitted easily with no alterations .

Found a scrap landy which had the newer round type transmission oil cooler .this fitted Ok just had to re-position a little . Undoing the pipe union was easy on this type so no complicated pipe joining required . Charge was £25 from scrapyard

Help advice wanted Transmission oil leak from pipe to "oil cooler" joint.Bought new pipes .But un-doing old joint from pipe to the oil cooler have stripped the pipe side threads. What i need is the male/male pipe adapter that fits between the pipes and the oil cooler itself. Does anyone know...

Have changed mine ,was easy .The TDC setting just relieves the pressure on the pump spring.The spring in the pump keeps the follower against the Cam so when engine set to TDC spring in pump body almost fully extended therebye minimising the spring tension that you have to undo the bolts against...

Just broke one of my top pipes where it goes into the Oil cooler itself ,Sourced two new pipes from Island but have stripped the threads from the pipe adopter at oil cooler.Does anyone know where i can source two new adopters .New oil cooler over £100
