The air compressor should be inside the black box on the right hand side of the engine. Check the fuses, hopefully they've just taken them out. IIRC, the height sensors are like square black boxes on all corners (someone will correct me if I'm wrong). Mick

White smoke normally means coolant and blue smoke is oil. Check the coolant, if it has oil in then stands a good chance your head gasket has gone. Any mayo on the oil cap?

It sounds like the baffle inside the has gone. It should direct the flow off coolant down then up the other side, certainly nothing should rattle. If the coolant is going straight across the top then it's effectively bypassing the rad and not being cooled. I have one in the for sale section...
