    bleedin breaks 2!

I bled and bled my brakes always to no avail. Untill I read(possibly here) to make sure that the adjusters were wound right back minimising the volume in the cylinder. This did the trick. You will have to ensure that all the bleed nipples are in good condition to do this though.

    Dipped headlights been silly.

This happened a good two years ago and the replacement bulbs are still going strong.

    Dipped headlights been silly.

I had my dipped beam go. It turned out to be a total coincidence that both bulbs had blown virtually at the same time. Incredible but worth a check.

First thought. Is your engine RPM on the low side?

    cigarette lighter

I got hold of a cigarette lighter socket attached to a 2 metre length of cable. I ran this (via a trip) straight to the battery. It is quite usefull because I leave it folded up in the dash out of sight when not in use.

How are you measuring the 5 amp output and what state of charge is your battery in when you are measuring it?

Rover Won't Start. Cold Weather Tips?

You said that it started with one push. Could there be a problem with the ballast resistor circuitry or does it need one fitting perhaps?

Electrical help please its driving me crazy

Is it the correct earth strap? If an incorrect strap with a low current carrying capacity has been fitted then it may well glow. If it is the correct strap then I would suspect the starter (or wiring to it.)

    arrrgh these brakes

You can soon find out if the problem is with your front or rear brakes by clamping the flexible hydraulic pipe that feeds the rear brakes. With mine the front brakes were great but I had real problems bleeding the back ones. One thing that helped was to slacken the adjusters right off so that the...

    arrrgh these brakes

I actually bought another set of brake shoes as the adjusters would tighten up and then fall off the stud. Luckily one of the mechanics walked through and said that I had made the classic mistake of thinking that the shoes were the same .Once he showed me the difference it was obvious. Fitted...

    rear crank seal leak

Are you sure that it is the seal gone? I changed mine a while ago when I changed my clutch. Not too bad a job to do but Bdooly fiddly. I used an old set of feeler gauges to get the cork gasketts in place.

    Heated Rear Screen

I fitted one to my series 3 recently. I wired it through a fuse and relay. I put an illuminated switch in the dash and also put it via the ignition switch so that it can't be left on by accident. The missus is really pleased with it...................It keeps her hands warm when shes pushing.

    Braking my sanity

I've heard that the return springs can be incorrectly fitted. May be worth checking.

    door top replacement.

I had trouble with both the nuts rusting and then when I put some pressure on the tops came unwelded. Fortunately the nuts are accessible and I used a small grinding disc on my Dremel to cut through them. Once the nuts were off the rest was easy.

    Bloody Air Springs!

mine has been dropping periodicaly for the last two years. I booked it into 2 Landrover specialists and both of them assured me that there was no fault and charged me for the investigation. It only happens now and again and sometimes goes several weeks with no problem. The engineer at one of the...

    Electrics

The voltage regulator should keep the voltage going to your gauges stable. When you rev your engine the voltage will rise by a couple of volts. this would make your gauges read higher. If you only have two connections then I would think that 1 is the voltage in the other the voltage out and the...
