    steering but not when going straight ???

    Let someone turn the steering wheel while you have a feel around. You should be able to see/feel where the play is. Then act accordingle. If it is the box and you cant adjust it up then I agree, change it... Unlikely but make sure the box is securely bolted to vehicle. I've seen those...
