after work today i got in the landy and when i turned the ignition on the temp gauge shot up passed the red and i aint even started the engine all day!! what that about?? :confused:

why it making that horrible starter motor noise 1st time but starting 2nd time every time. any ideas ? have had 200tdi put in for 19j.

do they line something up with starter ring?

was just told by some1 that they may not of lined it up if that makes sense? im no mechanic so dont know lol

Hi I have had a 200tdi disco engine put in but i think the starter ring hasnt been done, engine wont start 1st time but allways does 2nd time rnd, will it be ok or does engine have to cme out again ;-( paul

Does any1 know if i can find the year of my 200tdi disco engine from engine number? as its a conversion and l got no registration with it and cant get any for it as was from a breaker??

Had 200tdi conversion frm 19j, can u use 19j starter motor on disco engine as wondering if this why starter motor making noise on 1st time yutn ignition, starts fine on 2nd attempt tho?? Also any1 got pics of tdi starter motor and 19j so i can see difference cherrs paul

It the same noise as faulty starter motor, engine doesnt turn 1st time but does second, an i bin told could be starter ring? Wil try changing motor and hope to god that all it be lol Im no mechanic lol it a manual had an old 19j engine inbefore
