Will a parrot bluetooth kit work with the hk stereo in my 55 hse td4??

Hi, The HK system is a bit of a different animal to the standard stereo, I'm deffo not an expert but, IMHO, it probably would work but would be a pain in the arse for the fitter, so its more cost effective for them to bump you and lose the sale. Do a search an stereo upgrades (on here)...

Freelander 4x4 noise in the rear

it's your oddly matched tyre, no harm in checking the other bits and bobs but 99% sure it will be the wrong rolling diameter on your new tyre. If you check other posts regards the Viscus Coupling Unit "VCU" and the Intermediate Reduction Drive "IRD" then they will describe the freelanders...

    interior light help

Hi Guys, This is a little project I had on my notepad so I'm glad someone else asked the question before I did. So, once I've tapped into the feed up at the interior light, what's the best route to run the cable down to the foot-well? (thats where I want the the extra lights) Cheers.

    17" tyres

Having personally experienced the weaknesses of the freelander drive train (smashed IRD and boiled diff) after fitting ill suited tyres I certainly would only apply as directed. Bigger rolling circumference means more miles per rotation throwing out your speedo and gaining extra mpg, BUT...

    Rear Passenger Window Problem

Hi All, Ive tried searching to sort this and I keep coming up with threads about the tailgate, This problem is with the rear passenger doors. Nearside rear door electric window stopped working so opened up the door to find the cable snapped, going to order one of these FREELANDER ELECTRIC...

Help whirring and clicking under glovebox

    Freelander Roof Racks

When I put my roof box on it taps constantly unless you.... Fold it flat.... Fit roof box... then point it up so it is bent under the roof box, not too much, more "flexed"... Then re-tighten... Adjust as needed until vibration goes away... Simples

Bad tram lining after new tyres

Hi Mate, PLEASE NO NOT IGNORE THIS I recently replaced two rear tyres, I fitted Accelera tyres (235/50R18 Accelera Phi XL TL 101Y) I fitted them to the rear as advised when not replacing all 4 but due to the manufacturer not making them a standard size, the overall size was 40mm...

    Stereo in an Xei

Hi Mate, Pretty straight forward but there are things you need to look out for like steering controls or the HK amp in the boot, these make it a little more complex but all do-able. See Here http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f9/fitting-double-dinn-gps-dvd-into-dash-133257.html or Here...

I think I broke my Freelander

Yes, UNIQUE, so special in it's own way..... @ Hippo, May try that VCU test while its in bits, but, was going to test when IRD is in and if it fails Blank it off temporary and run 2 wheel drive for a month till I can replace the VCU if needed. sidenote I've never seen a 3 door FL with the...

I think I broke my Freelander

Yeah, that's how I read it. This is my first 4x4 so know nothing about 4 equal tyre sizes, I thought that was what a diff was for anyway, further distance round a corner and all that so why does it not work when going in a straight line.... Also, I can't find the sticky about equal tyre...

I think I broke my Freelander

Right, Spent a while under the freelander last night, jacked up and removed prop and rear wheels are spinning very smoothly, no roughness, no clunking, no noise at all, just a little oil so probably need new seals but all in all rear diff seems fine. Car dropped to floor with prop still...

I think I broke my Freelander

That's what broke it then, just waiting now to see how much damage has actually been done. I'm sure the VCU is bust, I've been told the DIFF is broke, and one mechanic said it feels like the IRD is broke too. All I did was treat the girl to a couple of new boots, If this doesn't deserve...

I think I broke my Freelander

OK, so I checked the diameter of the old tyres on the front against the new tyres on the back. Using the "tyresave" calculator from the other tyre thread they should be 692mm. New ones on rear measure about 695mm , old ones on front about 680mm. Any thoughts... Siblo

I think I broke my Freelander

No, there not the same make, I thought of that when I posted earlier. I'm not near the vehicle so can not physically check today, I'll do some measurements tomorrow. But from your diagnoses and the symptoms I experienced, I believe now that they must have caused the problem. Motoring...
