Try looking at the handbrake switch on the hand brake its self. may have a bad contact.

You may have an electrical fault like a lose connection. unlike others on this site who have nuts and bolts for brains. Don't disconnect just in case another problem occurs in the future.

Have you checked to see if the front suspension strut piston nut is tight this is the nut in the middle of the strut upper mounting plate in your engine compartment. Mine was lose and this did the job, (last thing I checked) The one on the drivers side (UK) is under the coolant expansion tank...
