Local guy (Chester/North Wales) guy has a pump with the brackets on it but won't split. He says they leak if you disassemble the throttle brackets. Interested in a whole pump?
Hi, I am planning to mount my fuel filter and expansion bottle on my wing but as it is all in pieces I don't know if my original (1988) wing bracket and bonnet prop will be suitable.
Is there a different prop on 300Tdi with filter and bottle on wing?
Cheers
I am looking for a set of 5 locking nuts, covers, key (2 if poss) and cover removal tool.
I know they are available from lots of suppliers but would rather give ££ to a member.
Worst thing is I think I have a set somewhere but can't find them.
Cheers
Next on my jobs is wiring, I need some help identifying the connections on my new 300Tdi ignition switch.
My current switch has big terminals because the glow plug wiring goes through the switch but I am putting the D1 glow plug timer on to reduce the wiring to the newer standard.

Hi all, this post straddles a couple of areas, so I will put it in general..
Has anyone binned their Disco 1 air box and fitted a cone filter (K&N or similar) or has anyone fitted a Disco 1 air box in their Defender?
At a crossroads and can't decide which way to go?
Update
I locked the crank and worked from there, pin in flywheel, cam on mark and pump pin in place and free to move in and out. Will be putting everything back together but won't know how well I have done till I sort the rest out.
Thanks all!!
Here is the timing slot in the middle hole and it should be lined up with the bigger hole to take the locking pin.
But in this position the woodruff key aligns with the arrow and the cam and pump align.
So should I take the belt off and turn the crank till I can lock it?

I have the set with four different pins but I can see the flywheel slot through the middle hole of the three in way of the blanking plate, so it is that far out.
Right you lost me with DTI. I have decided to pull the front, remove belt, lock flywheel, check cam markings and then set pump.
When, yes I said when not if, I have it up and running I will look to take it to Gwyn Lewis for finer tuning.
