    Windscreen top seal replacement?

I have my 1999 D2 booked in for paint repair to the rusty bits over the windscreen, and have a question about the top seal, which the paint shop need to remove to do their work. Rave says 'remove and discard' the seal, but...

Third row seats, backs won't unfold

Thanks meego, I had seen and tried that and similar suggestions but it didn't free up. The problem isn't that the locking pin is stuck (which seemed to be the problem on that page), it's moving freely, it's somewhere else in the hinge which is stopping the seat folding out flat so the locking...

Third row seats, backs won't unfold

I'm having trouble with both my third row seats on a '99 Disco 2. The backs will not fold up when the seat latches. I've had the Disco for about 3 months and the previous owner hadn't used anything behind the driver/passenger at all, so 'something' has likely rusted, but I can't see anything...

Philips or Alpine 99 TD5 Disco

Mine (99 TD5, T Reg) is an Alpine. I think there were different ones at the same time, mine is the Hi Line type with the Harman Kardon branded speakers, amplifier under the passenger seat.

Plastic frame for gearstick gaiter- where can I get one?

Thanks listerdiesel for confirming it's all one part, it's not obvious on the photos as they all seem to be taken from above. Might try scrappy as I can't just buy a new frame but the aftermarket one isn't pricey, thanks all.

Plastic frame for gearstick gaiter- where can I get one?

My '99 Disco 2 gearstick has had a bodged replacement gaiter (by a previous owner!), it looks like the gaiter has been stuck to the plastic frame with expanding foam (sigh...). As a result, the plastic frame hasn't fitted properly into the console as the lumpily-glued bit is too thick and...

Water, immobilisers, fobs, needing help in Aberdeenshire!

Thanks all so much for the pointers. The receiver was in a plastic bag, not fixed to the body. The plastic bag was seeing how much water it could store... at one point I thought there was a goldfish in there :o Disconnected the receiver, and there was a bit of corrosion on the board...

Water, immobilisers, fobs, needing help in Aberdeenshire!

Great, thanks for all that, I have high hopes for the 'at least 5 seconds' bit being the problem as I might have held it longer first time but on other tries just waited for the LED to come on solid then go off, which might have been less than 5s. If I can find out how the sounders have been...

Water, immobilisers, fobs, needing help in Aberdeenshire!

All beeps have been disconnected (guessing previous owner had alarm troubles...). Turn key to UNLOCK 5 seconds, immobiliser light comes on solid for a couple of seconds, then back to flashing. Enter the EKA code - x UNLOCKs, x LOCKs, x UNLOCKS, x LOCKs, then UNLOCK (does key have to be left...

Water, immobilisers, fobs, needing help in Aberdeenshire!

Thanks all, will try those tips in order. I had been thinking that the failure of the EKA code meant that the roof receiver wasn't to blame, but I will try it first, and also check out the sensors (the alarm had been going off occasionally in the rain, so they are likely getting wet)...

Water, immobilisers, fobs, needing help in Aberdeenshire!

Hi all, and HEEELLLPPP!! Just a few short weeks after starting my Landy 'voyage of discovery', I'm currently stuck with 2.2 tonnes of Solihull steel immovable on the drive, and hoping someone can help! I've read a tonne of articles on the forum, but combining them all into actually getting it...

    Hello From Bonnie Aberdeen!

Oh don't say that! I'm about 10 miles North and just started off in Landy ownership with a '99 Disco! Mind you, electrics is probably the thing I can manage at the moment... Welcome to LandyZone! Hope you get back to having one soon, must be a wrench to have to sell!

    At last!

Hi folks, I've been getting loads of answers here through Google searches since I bought my 1999 Disco 2 a few weeks ago, so thought it would make sense to register as I'm sure to need to ask stuff!
