Series 3 Diesel fuel line question

After a short drive I noticed the fuel line above my filter is leaking at the connection to the bolt. Can I cut it of, remove the leaking piece and press it back on the bolt again? Or is this a special type of connection and do I need a new fuel line? Would like to know before I start cutting.

Series 3 SWB truckcab in the Netherlands

Took the afternoon of yesterday. Got it all ready for it's MOT. Appointment is made for tomorrow morning. For as far as I can tell there will be no problems tomorrow but you never know. I can't wait! o_O:) A lot of work so far but well worth it. When the weather gets better I'm going to give her...

Series 3 SWB truckcab in the Netherlands

Got a lot done in the past days. Wings, doors, radiator, lights and whipers. It's nearly finished :). Took it around the block for a short test drive (max 15 Mph) and so far it runs very nice. Brakes are a bit soft so there is probably still some air in the system. Wednesday I will try to fit...

    '74 S3 SWB - project down-under

I think that would work. But I would place a heat-shield between the exhaust and the compressor. A simple piece of metal plate will do.

Series 3 1974 2.25 Diesel with air problems (SOLVED)

Lift pump was a suspect, so today I renewed the diaphragm and the check valves. Also changed all the copper rings in the system. Had it running for 30 minutes without a problem, no visible leaks just like before. Tomorrow I will know if the work from today solved the problem. Fingers crossed.

    Series 3 Roamer Overdrive?

Paid a little more for the 88 but not much :). And indeed, at these prices it's just not worth it. I'll wait for a second hand Fairey at a reasonable price, although that getting rare, a Fairey overdrive for a reasonable price. Until then I'll drive a little slower.

    Series 3 Roamer Overdrive?

I was checking my options for an overdrive, Fairey or roamerdrive. Got a price for a new roamerdrive trough Britpart. 2117 euro's!! (1827 pounds) Wow. But then again, better expensive then not for sale.

Series 3 1974 2.25 Diesel with air problems (SOLVED)

Thanks for the tips! I already replaced the fuel filter and its seals so that should be good. Looking for a leak with the engine running is a good idea, why didn't I think of that. If that doesn't show any leaks I will have a look at the check valves in the fuel pump. I am not sure but I think...

Series 3 1974 2.25 Diesel with air problems (SOLVED)

Looking for some advice and experience. After priming the fuel system using the method described in the Land Rover book, the engine starts quickly and runs like a dream. But the next day there is air in the system again, bleeding only the fuel pump is enough to get it running again. I can't find...

Series 3 SWB truckcab in the Netherlands

Ok, while trying to align the doors i had to push the bulkhead out a little bit. While doing this I noticed that the bulkhead was moving but the chassis attachment points where not. That's not right... They were not welded to the bulkhead but simply hammered in to the doorposts. Lucky I...

Series 3 SWB truckcab in the Netherlands

Today I changed the oils. Well, not all the oil. It was i little hard getting the oil out of the transferbox. Seems someone made a mistake in the past. So, the lid had to come off. Gear look like this. It looks to me like they are in very good condition. Can't wait to drive this thing!

Series 3 SWB truckcab in the Netherlands

Alright. Got all the brake cylinders and the flexible brake pipes off yesterday. I found single, double and bubble flares in the system. Single and bubble on the cylinders. Bubble on the t-junction in the rear. Single flare from the hard to flexible pipe. I don't think they are all correct so...

Series 3 SWB truckcab in the Netherlands

Thanks for the tip. I already posted the question on the prikkers facebookpage. I had a 109 before. It had it's original lights, for as fare as I could tell. The lamp-fittings were metal on those and they were bomb proof.

Series 3 SWB truckcab in the Netherlands

Today I connected the rear lights. These Britpart lights came with the car and I'm not very happy with them. They are working now but the bulbs don't fit very well and come lose easily. I don't think they will say on very long while I'm driving. Does anyone know where to get good quality light...
